I have a 1997 ford taurus 6 cylinder that has a ''misfire'' diagnostics reading. It says cylinder six. I have changed all the spark plugs and wires and reset the code, the check engine light came back on. Where are the vacuum lines that I need to change for the next step in fixing the error?

Vacuum lines will not cause a specific cyl misfire. You may have a bad coil pack, or bad injector. You will need to make sure you have spark at the specific cyl listed for the misfire, and can test to see if you have injector pulse using a noid lite. Also, and good scan tool can show you live data, and allow you to watch the components operation, and give you a good starting point to determine the miss.

I own a 2002 mustang with v 6 eng.service eng light came on. pep boys retreived fault code that reads p0304.eng has new plugs and wires

P0304: Cylinder Misfire Detected (#4)

-Last number corresponds to which cylinder is misfiring.

Could be a faulty spark plug or wire. Try changing the spark plug from the 4 Cylinder to another and see what happens; If the different cylinder misfires, then it is the spark plug. If not, it could be the wires on cylinder 4.

Cylinder misfiring

The cheapest and easiest way to remove a possible cause is to put a set of new, good quality spark plug wires in there. Bad wires, especially where they snap onto the top of the plug, can cause misfires. Do not mix up the firing order, replace one wire at a time.
