Used a test light at starter, on small wire check for voltage while some one turn key to start.if you do have voltage there starter bad . Replace it. If you need to move truck tap starter with hammar while some one turn key to start.Remember you'll still need to replace starter.

Most part stores will test starter, battery, and altenator in or out of the vehicle for free.
I first would check battery connections. Make sure they are a tight metal to metal contact with battery and also the solenoid. The solenoid may be faulty.
The starter relay can be tested with an ohmmeter to see if it is good or not. You can go to autozone.com and register for free online repair manual for you cherokee

2000 jeep cherokee wont start. i turn the key to crank, but all i get is one click and then nothing. i thought it was the starter so i had that replaced and i had the same results. thought it was a battery...

If the starter seems good and the battery all that is important is to check if there is power to the starter when the solenoid clicks. you need to check this before anything can be confirmed.
Check the leads, the ground of the engine and the starter solenoid.

My jeep grand cherokee laredo, 2000, wont start... engine turns over - battery works - just won't start???

engine turns over so starter is ok. chrysler computer can cause this situation. Many computer module warranties were extended by chrysler because of problems. check with dealer. They can scan computer to verify. Make sure you try starting fluid first to see if fuel pump is out. have someone spray into air filter box while trying to start car. if pump is bad it will start.

I recently replaced my battery in my 2000 jeep grand cherokee, but when I go to turn the key, it makes a clicking noise and won't start. What do I need to do.

2005 jeep grand cherokee wont start...batt good but just makes a clicking noise when i try to start it

Make sure that your terminal ends are clean where they contact the battery and make sure that the ground wire connection on the block is good. If the clicking noise is coming from the starter and the battery is fully charged and has been load tested, chances are that the starter solenoid has worn out (replace with starter). If you can turn the engine by hand it is not "locked up" If you can't, changing the starter is a waste of time as you have a far larger problem.
Do what I said and you should find a solution to the problem.
Good Luck!!!.

MY JEEP WONT START IT CLICKS I HAVE REPLACED BATERY EVEYTHING I CAN THINK OF

If all you are getting is clicks when you turn the key, the first things to look at are a faulty starter, starter solenoid, or ignition relay. Hope this helped and best wishes.

2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Starter

Do you have an alarm on this? If you do, that is most likely the problem. There seems to be a problem with the alarms. You may want to have a new key made just in case. Sometimes the keys are magnetically charged and after time, it wears off.

Jeep wont start

The crank position sensor is on the bell housing of the transmission, very hard to see, on passenger side, below the valve cover, depending if it is an early 2000 or a later 2000 model.
