Question about 1997 Mazda Protege

Front passenger window will go down but not up. unfortunately the window is stuck down. i assume it is a problem in the wires however i dont know the wire colors for right window down. i also know the problem isn't in the right door itself since we replaced the original door whose window also wouldn't go up ( the door was in the brunt of an accident and when the window went bad we decided to change the whole door) do you have a wiring diagram for ?and is there a most likely place that the wire would have broke?

Did you re-use the switch? The circuit usually operates by reversing polarity for window motors so either your switch is bad (try a different one) or you have a wire between the switch and the motor that is shorted to ground.

The problem is most likely the window lift motor is going bad and cant get enough "umph" to push the window up...the window motors used in these cars new werent as powerfull as they need to be, and they fail often prematurely.

Windows wont go up

Check inside the rubber boot where the wiring goes into the drivers door, often 1 or more wires will break there due to the drivers door getting used the most

2004 Explorer power window, strange problem.

my passenger window would only go up. Found broken white wire in the harness on the Driver side .I slit the rubber boot carefully to expose all the wires, It stuck out like a sore thumb. The broken white wire was bigger than most of the other wires going thru the harness. Spliced back together now it all works fine

Passenger front window stuck half way

Couple of questions: Does the window work with either the driver door switch or the passenger door? Do you hear any noise when pressing the switch? Like a click? Can you pull up or down on the window? Is either electrical (fuse, switch wiring) or mechanical. New cars use a cable regulator instead of the old gear system. The cables can fray and get stuck or break. You have to replace the whole assembly on most cars. Check out the internet for pricing since the dealer will chare quite a bit. Some cars are more prone to this then others. I have replaced three in my daughters Grand Cherokee already. Let me know more info so I can help.

more than likely one of the switches are bad (down side of switch works but up side of switch dont) being as the switches are wired together if one goes bad other one won't work either take the switch out one of back doors should be same as front passenger door put rear switch in front passenger door if works then u know front door switch is bad if it doesn't then drivers door switch is bad
u replaced window regulator Did that come with motor too??? if not check to see if motor is good
there is two wires going to motor cut isolation back on wires and using some jumper wires attach one wire to positive terminal of a 12 volt battery attach other wire to negative terminal of battery window should move up or down reverse connections and window should move other way

I have the exact same problem on a Jeep Grand Cherokee 2004. The rear passenger window rolls down only from the rear passenger window and won't go up or down from the front. It has to be in the wiring because the problem was intermittent initially and a new window motor does the exact same thing. If you figured it out or have the wiring diagram please let me know.

The front passenger window only goes down but not

it's working from the drivers side. i would assume the passenger switch is bad or there is a wire disconnected from the switch.

if the window rolls down the motor is good. I assume the window will not operate from the drivers door or the passenger door, and the lock out button is ok (the rear windows work ok?) I am not sure about a Durango but you may take a rear window switch out and try it on the front. sometimes if you try going up, flip the switch and push it slightly more than normal and a lot of times, it just may be dirty.
