My air conditioner (mainly the heater) has some kind of a short.

My air conditioner (mainly the heater)has some kind of a short in it. It turns off and the dash lights on the a/c controls go out when I hit bumps. Where do I start looking? Is this a common problem? thanks

I think you'll just have to look, or have someone look. If you remove the switch I think you might find the connector on the back has come loose and is just barely contacting. Perhaps you can reach under the dash and feel or look up behind to see what is going on. I hope this is of some help to lead you to the solution to your problem. Have fun learning.

Heater not blowing hot air in cabin

Check the coolant level. Check for leaks. Next would be clogged heater core(doubt that 2004) next would be the water pump. Kind of doubt that also, 2004. But if you have leaks?

My air condition only blows out cold air not hot

Turn your air conditioner OFF and turn your heater ON. Air conditioners were designed to blow out one temperature of air... COLD.

2004 Chrysler Voyager, had an acrid burning smell and a lot of smoke when heater is turned on, also a rattling/squealing noise, all stops when heater turned off?

you more than likely have a sciezed air con compressor. most modern cars have climate control which uses air con even when demisting and when engaged the electric clutch tries to engage but the pump itself will not turn, clutch will get red hot and burn your belts

I have to turn on the air conditioner to defrost my front window during the winter time. If I turn on the heater to defrost it gets worse. How do I fix this?

To understand how a/c works will explain what is happening. A/c works by moving the haet from inside to outside. at the evaporator which is inside the car this action freezes the coils and the hot air of the inside condenses on the coils and water is drained outside. When there is no more water left in the air in side the car the windscreen goes clear. When you use the heater the water in the air in the car will still form as fog on the inside until the air temp dries it out. In short it is more efficient to use the a/c for short spells to clear the screen than the heater demister

When air-conditioner is on water drips (actually pours) onto passengers feet (particularly when turning corners). Is this some kind of blocked drain? How do I remedy this?

There is a drain. If you can access the heater/air assembly the hose and evaporator pan can be cleaned and sealed. I just don't know how to do every model car.

1993 Varvan, Not Turn Signals, No Heater Blower, And AIr Bag Light Now On

boy, that sound like a major circuit to cause all that. either a main fuse under the hood or a main circuit wiring harness connector. there are no unfused circuits that could indicate a short unless there has been past fuse blowing problems
