Once the lifters get worn, there's not much that can be done to quiet them down without changing them. If somebody tells you to add an oil additive, like stp or simular, don't do it, that stuff is so thick it can clog the oil port holes and you will be needing a whole engine job.
It happened to me, I took the engine apart, and it looked like I poured a can of glue in it.

Hello!
There a quite a few factors that could cause stalling but before you start spending any money you could check the Oxygen sensor.Seems that as soon as engine warms up and reads the o2 sensor values things go bad.

1998 3800 v6 firebird... wont run right after starting

Possibly a weak fuel pump, idle air control valve, vacuum leaks, or loose or damaged wiring in the ignition system. Check for vacuum leaks first. That's the only one that won't cost anything. Make sure all intake bolts are tight, and all hoses are connected properly and in good condition.
