Question about 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer

1 Answer

My 04 Trailblazer just had body work that required the battery to be disconnected. When I picked up the car. it seemed to be fine. After driving it in the rain for two days.the power door locks and dome lights started comming on and off continously when driving. The security alarm would sound after the car was parked for hours. Now the interior lights stay on unless I manualy turn them off at the dash switch. Seems to do all more so when the weather is raining. Any suggestions?

Sounds like a short in the wiring. Was the body damage in an area where the wiring could have been damaged also? You should take it back to the repair shop and tell them what is happening.

How do I reset the PCM on a 04 chevy trailblazer

I disconnected the battery, removed fuses 10 and 28 adjacent the battery and waited twenty minutes. I then hooked the battery back up reinstalled the fuses and started the vehicle. The battery light went out and the battery not charging message did not come back on. I then went for a test drive. I had a celebratory adult beverage because it worked.

04 trailblazer staling out

The throttle body needs to be cleaned, grime in this area prevents the throttle plate from closing completely and allowing air to enter, making the air/fuel mixture lean. Make sure to clean the front and back sides of the throttle body. Also, disconnect the battery during the cleaning process to allow the computer to reset and relearn to the cleaned throttle body.

I just replaced the thermostat on my 2003 trailblazer and disconnected the battery in the process. I installed the new thermostat and reconnected the battery. Now when i have the heater on it sputters and...

You probably mean your defroster, as this is a very common problem after the battery is disconnected. Your defroster uses the A/C to dry the air. Clean your throttle body with battery disconnected. Battery must be disconnected for at least an hour, but if you take the throttle body off (best way to clean it) 1 hour won't be a problem. Computer learned some bad habits, when you hooked the battery back up, it though it was getting good signals from a clean throttle body. Your throttle body is filthy, therefore you have the exact problems you described. When finished drive around for 15 min with all HVAC, A/C controls OFF. This will allow the computer to relearn a properly functioning tb.

I have 2005 Trailblazer with the inline 6, after I drive it for a while seems to idol really low and the engine has quit running a couple of times, but it started right back up?? oh yah and sometimes seems...

Have you ever cleaned the throttle body? If not, remove, clean and replace the throttle body. Make sure you disconnect the battery for at least 30 min while cleaning the throttle body. This will allow the PCM to reset itself. It will have to re-learn for the first few trips you make, but will adjust to the newly clean throttle body.

I have a 04 trailblazer and my tack dosent read right when i stop at a stop light my truck wants to stall

If you're saying that the RPM's are too low (less than 600), you need to clean the throttle body. Make sure to clean v=both the front side and rear side thoroughly. Also, disconnect the battery while doing the cleaning, this will reset the computer and allow it to relearn to the newly cleaned throttle body.

I have a 2003 chevy trailblazer, and when i turn on the ac it works fine as im driving, but when i stop the air turns hot and the car trembles and sometimes dies.

The first thing you need to do is clean the throttle body. This area of the air intake gets dirty and gummed up and prevents proper air passage. While the cleaning is taking place, make sure the battery is disconnected so that the computer will be reset and be able to relearn with a clean air intake.
Next, you need to have the AC refrigerant checked, it may low. OR, the low idle speed because of dirty throttle body just does not allow the compressor to produce enough pressure.

2006 Chev Trailblazer. Seems to be running fine then loses power, the airbag light comes on, then it picks back up and seems to run fine again.

1st things 1st, clean that throttle body. Clean with throttle body cleaner with the battery disconnected. Must be shiny like new. When finished drive with all the accesories OFF for about 5-7 miles, this way your computer will relearn the newly cleaned throttle body correctly.

As far as the airbag light, could be many things. You didn't mention this....does the airbag light go off when the power is restored? The airbag is nothing to mess with, if it goes on again, you can take it to a shop that can communicate with the airbag control module. Will narrow down exactly where the fault is.

After replacing battery truck will not remain running in idle in drive while air conditioning is on. will run if air conditioner is off

Cleaning out your throttle body will probably fix this. Sounds weird, but your throttle body builds up junk over time and if you disconnect your battery, your computer gets reset to stock settings and thinks it is getting the same amount of air as when it had a new (clean) throttle body. This messes up the airflow calculations, especially when the AC kicks in. Get a bottle of throttle body cleaner and be very careful cleaning out the back of the unit as it has some razor sharp edges. Reinstall and start the Trailblazer. Should be fine.

Just replace battery need to reset computer

if you lost memory all you have to do is drive the truck so it can relearn. It could take a hour or more of driving. If it still has thesame issue after that then chances are your throttle body is coked (dirty) or your idle air control valve is faulty. The fact that you say it dies when the AC is turned on tells me the IAC is prabably not performing well.

The body shop should be able to program the Key F.O.B back to your vehicle. If the battery was disconnected the reciver to the F.O.B lost the frequency.
If the shop can not fix it the dealer can.
