Well first when you press the windnow switch can yout hear the motor running if so you may need a new regulator if you cant take the door panel off and check to see if your getting power to the motor via test light get a test light and ground one side and stick one of the wires to the motor then with key on press the window switch up and down if nothing replace switch if you do have power but the motor will not run replace motor. hope this helps.

Hyundai sonata 97 v6 3l power window driver's side dosent work but rest 3 works ...need help

You may possibly have either a bad master switch or a bad window motor. You will need a simple 12 volt test light for this along with some screwdrivers. Start by removing the door panel. There are only a few screws holding it. Find the 2 wires that go to the window motor. These work on reverse polarity which means they alternate power and ground depending on which way you move the window switch. Connect the test light alligator clip to any near by ground (chassis) and probe one of the wires at the window motor. With the key in the on position, use the window switch to raise or lower the window. If the test light lights up then you know the switch is good and the problem is the window motor. I hope this helps. Good luck.

Power window won't work

if its just one window thats not working then more than likely its the motor. but try operating the window from the switch that operates that window (i e)left rear window left window switch if it works from the window switch then its the master switch thats bad but if it dosent work then its the motor more than likely.

I own a 1999 dodge interprid fom what i hear theres been alot of engine problems and my window dosent work what can i do to prevent future engine problems and how much will it cost to repair the window...

First off, if it's a 2.7L , yes there is some scary stories out there, but if oil is changed regularly as well as PCV components, and cooling system kept in good condition, then they can last as well as any. Engine sludge is main culprit on those. Second, is it just one window, and does it work sometimes or not at all.?

Window problem

Sounds like the cable for the power window mechanism has failed. Most cars, you replace as an assembly with a new motor. You usually can't buy just the cable. And, on some cars there is a plastic piece that breaks, and even though all other components are good, you can't buy just the plastic piece.

Power door locks wont work and dosent seem to get enough power to drivers side window

Buy a different van. I maintain a fleet of 10 Astros and the automatic door locks on all of them do not work. 5 of them have windows that don't work. The rear door handles on three of them have broken in half. The auto door latch in the 02 will not open.
