How to replace a fuel filter on 2000 honda odyssey

    • Crawl under the van near the rear bumper and locate the gas tank (large metal tublike protrusion). Find the gas line running from the end of the gas tank toward the front of the vehicle.
    • 2Follow the gas line until you locate a clear plastic apparatus, which is the fuel filter.
    • 3.
Pry the filter from the fuel filter mount with the screwdriver; then use the pliers to pull the tubes off the ends of the fuel filter.
    • 4Slide the gas line onto the proper sides of the new fuel filter and then slide the filter back into the mount.
    • 5Start the car up, turning the key to "Accessories On" for 3 to 5 seconds first and then turn the car the rest of the way on. This allows the fuel pump to prime the gas line prior to the engine firing.

Right rear brake line corroded and burst. Traced the problem to the main line from the master cyl. not sure which of the four lines from the master cyl is the right one. Anyone know?

All of that is not important

You can not get any brake tubing from a dealer, even for a
brand new vehicle,never could

When 3/16" steel brake tubing rusts out,you need to purchase
tubing of different lengths, at the auto parts store.

You cut, bend, and flair the ends yourself, fabricate so to speak,
no other way.

You use only the 3/16 double flair connectors, if you can not make
an end to end run.

You start by removing the tubing near where it rusted through or leaks
You go to the nearest original connection,a wheel cylinder, abs module etc.
Then as you construct the tubing going back toward the master at the front,
you may want to cut it and flair the OE Tube and stop there.
There is no need to go end to end,and put yourself through all that stress.

Just replace the rusted area unless you can easily get to a line.

If your not going back to the maste,r which line doesn't matter
If your going end to end you will answer your question as you remove
the old tubing

If your doing several rusted lines for safety sake,do one at a time

Brake Diagrams. I blew a brake line. My car is a 1994.

Keep your *** life out of it. Take it to a shop and any mechanic can quickly put in a replacement line. They only come in two sizes and all parts stores have many different lengths of pre-flared lines hanging on the wall. The offending line is cut away, back to where it is solid, proper ends to existing lines are made and the new one installed in place of the old. Then it must be bled with a gadget, which along with a lift, is a handy tool the mechanic will have. Or get a brother in law and wait for 2-3 days while he gets it done....... sort of.

Having problems with my brakes on a 1997 Oldsmobile 88. Looks like a steel brake line is rusted out between the front and rear tires. That's where the leak seems to be coming from. Any ideas on how much...

very cheep fix. First remove the old leaky line and determine how much line you will need. The line is usually sold unbent. You will have to bend the line. I usually lay the old line right beside the new so i have a refference of where i need to make the bends. You probably wont need a bender, most cars come with 3/16 brake line and you can bend that by hand. You will however need a speical tool to cut the correct length. Just take the old one with you when you when you get ready to buy new line. They will get you everything you need. Should be around 50 bucks to fix it yourself. You will have to bleed the brakes after you install the new line though. Good Luck

Changing the fuel filter

Your gas tank is in the back of your car between the frame rails. The fuel line runs up toward the engine along the drivers side frame rail on the inside of the frame rail. The fuel filter is located along that fuel line inside the drivers side frame rail, about at the back of your front door. You should be able to trace the fuel line all the way to the intake of your engine. Once you locate the fuel filter, you will need a special tool to remove the filter from the line. You should be able to get the 'fuel filter tool' at your local auto parts store for under $10. The tool has a flanged end on it, and it 'scissors' open and closed. Place the proper sized end on your fuel line just in front of the filter so that the flange sticks in toward the filter. Gently push the tool in toward the filter, while pulling back on the fuel line. The line should come disconnected. Remember, the fuel line is pressurized and may spray gas for a second or two when it comes apart. Then do the same to the other end of the fuel line. Good luck. Any problems, write back.
