It really sounds like you have an issue with the lock actuator for the boot. the sensor itself should be incorporated within the mechanism (similiar to rolls royce). these products are made by ford motor co. and prone to failure. have the mechanism replaced.

My key wont unlock my doors on a 2002 jaguar xtype

The door lock cylinders have either been replaced or the lock cylinders are frozen from rust and corrosion. Best bet is to spray some type of penetrating oil in the key hole and let it try to soak in and keep trying the key gently to work it loose, if that doesnt work, you can most likely get new lock cylinders or have a locksmith cut you keys for them

Remote door lock sensor

you have a FAB sensor that is going out, seen this alot of times. there is a little black box under the dash, depending on vehicle that controls the key fabs, how many you have, and the functions of each. the FAB sensor is pretty much the brains of the FAB system and it is about the size of your palm or smaller. best thing is to just have it replaced. they go anywhere from $80 to $175 depending on the functions and if it needs to be programmed specifically to your vehicle. hope this helps

Beep does not sounds when locking

Very possible. Each lock has to fully complete it's movement in order to send an "all lock" signal to transceiver. If not, you may wake to a dead battery as the alarm retries the last command to lock repeatedly.

2002 pontiac grand prix - power door locks

I do believe the 3 beeps are telling you that you are about to lock your doors. Additonally that should signal you that have your keys in hand before you locks your keys inside the car. It's just an aural warning reminder that your doors are about to be locked.

I had the same issue with my remote start on another vehicle, the part that bypasses the code on the key had to be reset. The way we figured it out was everything was normal except the vehicle did not start & the security light flashed rapidly.

Wont start

Inertia switch located on the passengers side (under the dash). You may need to remove a small door to get access to it. If you have not been in an accident, then it was probably tripped accidentally. Simply press the button, and it will reset. This should get your car running again. Good Luck!
