Question about 2004 Audi A4

1 Answer

I have an 2004 audi A4 GT convertible and the same coil continues to misfire. I have replaced it 3 times in the last 3 months. What is causing it to do this? Is ther a larger problem than just the coil?

Are you sure it's the coil, have you checked the spark plug wires

2003 audi A4 2.0 fsi, has misfire on idle

this is going to sound crazy BUT i would (and have) take your car to a skoda dealer, labour cost 1/2 that of audi(i worked for audi for 11 years)and the parts are out of the same box.have you replaced H.T.leads as thet are carbon fibre and can cause the same symptoms.also ask to speak to audi area technical manager when next in your area.he is factory trained.

2004 Audi A4 misfire

it is always a good idea to stay with o.e.m parts and yes there is updated parts in the newer coils. and yes the M.A.F will also cause misfire faults but will not make check engine light flash or make car shake and shudder. also check you wire harness going to your coils make sure your ground wires are not cracked. That could be the main culprate. good luck hope this helps

2001 audi a4 CEL came on

I would start with the cylinder 4 spark plug and make sure it look good and is firing correctly.  After that I would look either at the final coil, ignition module and then o2 sensor.  These problems are so hard to diagnose and are trial and error so much of the time.

Engine light on and car shaking unbelievably

these are extremely high maintanance vehicles. is the engine lite flashing or on solid? 1.8turbo? would suspect misfires in the engine. (scan for codes) spark plugs, ign. coils and poss ignition module are the first things that come to mind. euro's are fun to drive; nothing like it, however it does come with a price. everything seems to be over-engineered. just my opinion and experience.
