Do you live in a humid area? does the air in the truck smell funny? it MAY be a leaking heater core, but if so, you would be losing coolant, or its just the way it is.

Make sure that you dont have coolant leak, and if it does check if the heater core is leaking and repair as needed.

the other problem will be place the control on fresh air rather that on recicculate

2000 honda accord heater mode ? auto mode works, defrost mode does not

Is the a/c compressor turning on? When you turn the defroster on, the a/c compressor turns on to help remove moisture from the interior of the vehicle which in turns clears the fogging from the windows. If the a/c doesn't work, the defroster won't either.

Does the A/C compressor have to work to run the defrosters in my 1997 Honda Accord?

no the ac compressor doesn't have to work for the defrost to work. All car maker have to have a default to a safe condition. So that means if your ac fails the defrost will still work. I will take longer to defrost your window

to clear the interior of fog you must put the fan on recirc and #3 fan position.with the a/c on HOT.it will clear as soon as any heat from the engine is allowed to the heater matrix to dry out the interior.if you allow fresh air into the car with fogged up glass, they will get worse as the temp is warmer inside the car than out.(they collect condensation).

Are car fogs up in defrost but not if we put ac on can you give us any information

Older honda are notorious for this problem. When you run the a/c, it removes moisture from the air being cycled through the system, so the windshield will clear. This is unfortunately normal for this car. You can use the a/c in heat mode with defrost on to clear the window also.

When we turn on the heat, the windshield fogs terribly, and "for good" making it nearly impossible to clear it up again. ONLY the AC keeps the windshield from fogging - even in the Winter! can't tell you...

Thats normal, when the defrost button it pushed, the a/c compressor is on, and you can adjust the temp of the air. With the a/c is on, it takes the moisture out of the air. So, after the engine is warm, you can get warm dry air to defog the windows.

2001 Accord EX - Front passenger side carpet is soaking wet

The drain on the a/c evaporator gets clogged, you have to raise the car on a lift, or get under the car, on the right side of the car under the fire wall you will see a black rubber hose ( about a 1/2 inch in size) pointing down, you will need to blow compressed air in the hose to clear the blockage.
