SOURCE: no dome light on tacoma

The dome light gets 12 volt battery power at all times. The door switch, when the door is opened, allows the current to flow to ground, and completes the circuit. The door switch allows the ground to be made. Measure for 12 volts at the wiring connector, and measure for direct short at the ground wire, with the door open. The Ground wire is white with a black tracer.

Dome Light Fuse in a 2000 Isuzu NPR keeps blowing.

If the dome light is the only circuit supplied by that fuse the sensible place to check for shorting wires is in the light fitting itself and if nothing is found work backwards to the fusebox.

Discovering where the short is on a single wire can be a massive task if it is in the wiring harness and it is often simpler to cut the offending wire at both ends and fit new, unfortunately it is unlikely the dome light is the only accessory supplied by that fuse. Referring to a wiring diagram before you start cutting should make things clearer - I hope it is something obvious in the dome light or accessible wiring...

Where can i find a dome wiring diagram for a 1998 chevy cavalier ?

Do your dash lights work? Check the dash light switch to see if it rotates to control the dome light, it may be turned off completely or the dome light ground wire may be loose. If not the wiring will run from the back of the fuse block through the body post to the dome light Good Luck

REPLACING DOME LIGHT - DOES IT MATTER WHAT SIDE THE ORANGE WIRE GOES ON - OR THE WHITE WIRE AND AT WHAT ANGLE???

no it doesn't matter...the orange is +12vdc and the white is the "momentary" ground that is made with the opening of the doors , the switch, if one is up there, and the dome light switch on the dash instrument control.
