Ck muffler, sometimes the catalatic converter goes bad and needs to be replaced ($300.00) try a junk yard if yours is bad.

Wow 9 months old post. im new and starting with check engines the other guys probley passes you over because you did not post the engine code for the check engine.
im sure by now you got it fixed. without the code and what the code says it is just quesing . my guess would be idle air valve or mass air flow.but thats quessing .in the future go to a major auto parst store that reads your code for free .get a print out from them or write it down they can also eather pull up or print out trouble shooting .example of what you need to post to get quick help. code p0103 mass air flow VAF sensor high input voltage .that just gave a pinpoint problem .good luck happiness is no check engine light
