Have a 2002 Toyota Camry V6. The engine surges at low speed (just starting off up to about 20) and after you get up to cruising speed (60+) on the interstate. It does not do it 100% of the time, but frequently enough to notice. I had the fuel injectors professionally cleaned, but no help. Also, separately timing belt and valve cover gasket was replaced. Not sure if the two are related or not. Toyota dealer says that until the check engine light comes on they cannot figure out what's going on which I think is complete BS.

E G R solenoid might be,this is true,but normally check engine light would come on,fuel filter in the tank,may be the problem, I would have the pressure checked,if it is the least bit low,replace the filter,and the pump,If trans,was doing it ,it would be harder,more of a ****,when it surged.
