Since you may have clutch packs there, heat won't be a good idea...you could try to get in the with an appropriate size punch, with the corner of it, and try to hammer it out that way...being that tight, i would say you a GOOD quality penetrating oil...keep hitting it with the oil....leave it sit...then hit it again with more oil..then let it sit, etc..for a few days...then with a small punch, hit the broken piece and try to screw it out...if that doesn't work then you're looking at another differential assembly...the whole rear end...clutches, and all....sorry dude!

Oh boy? this is a good un, you can try to drill out the broken bolt but dont drill the threds out,, or drill a smaller hole than the bolt and use an "easy out" to undo the broken bolt,,,if you had used a bit of wd40 or a bit of heat on a sezed bolt first it may not have broken off,,,,this could now become expencive

How do i change out my rear end

remove wheels calipers and rotors, remove rear cover and drain oil from diff, remove abs sensors if it has abs, remove axle shafts, this is done by removing the 8mm bolt holding the pin, slide pin out push axle in to remove c clip holding axle then slide out, do the same to other side, note dont spin diff or gears will fall out, dissconect driveshaft, next remove axle vent and unbolt brake hose from axle, leaving brake lines connected unclip them from axle housing, next support diff with jack, dissconect lower shock bolts and slide shocks to side, remove upper control arm bolts from diff, slowly lower diff to release spring tension now remove springs and remove lower arm bolts. lower diff and take out. reverse to install. hope this helps.

Fix rearaxle 97 camaro

It should have a bolt through a pin holding it in place inside the diff cover. Remove the cover, find the small bolt going through the pin, remove the bolt and pin, and push inward on the axle from the hub. The retainer clip should fall, allowing you to pull the axle shaft out.
Good luck!
