where is this relay located at on my car

  • bonbon197320 Nov 16, 2009

is a fuse and a relay considered the same thing and is it easy to replace and how do you know if it has gone bad

  • bonbon197320 Nov 16, 2009

THE PRESSURE IS GOOD BETWEEN THE PUMP AND THE FILTER

SO IF IT IS NOT THE RELAY AND NOT THE FUSE WHAT ELSE COULD IT BE FOR THE INJECTORS GETTING ANY GAS

where is the map sensor located on my car

If you have pressure from your fuel pump, you could have a blockage between the pump and the injectors. Most likely spot would be the fuel filter. If your system is not clogged somewhere, (there is pressure to the injectors), then you have a sensor issue that is not telling your injectors when to spray. You can run code diagnostics to determine where the fault is. Since your car will not run, the code reader will have to come to you. National parts chains have the readers, and if you could take the car to them will normally read the fault codes and interpret them for you, many will let you take the reader for a small deposit, refundable upon return, show you how to use it etc. Good Luck! I hope this is very helpful!

If you have adequate pressure to the injectors, but they are not spraying, you likely have a sensor issue. The next step would be code diagnostics, (fault codes), to determine what the problem is. Good Luck!

Check if there is fuel before or after the fuel filter. If there is no fuel or weak delivery after the fuel filter then you will have it replace the filter. If it is weak before it, you may have to check the fuel pump. The wiring or the pump may be weakening. If there is no fuel before the filter but the pump is working as stated, check the fuse and the relay. One of them may be bad. If all check out OK, have your injectors inspected.

IT should be under the hood. If I recall correctly it should be near the strut, driver side. It may be located inside bracket or box. Different years may vary locations. Others would have it mounted closer to the firewall at the same side.

the fuse is different. It serves as a safety device should an increase in current occurs. If you have a tester you would not get any continuity between the two terminals... other way to check is the conductor inside the transparent case is burnt or cut. The relay on the other hand would not have any continuity on any of its terminals. The relay is basically a switch that when energized sends power to the pump.

You would have to physically inspect the injectors for damages or wear. Have the MAP sensor checked out as well. This dictates the amount of fuel to be delivered to the engine. If you can also get a scanner into the unit to get error codes the more accurate we can diagnose the problem.

1991 ford tempo ran fine went to store it started fine and then just died

Likely a gas or spark problem. Spray starting fluid into the air intake while cranking it. If it then runs for a few seconds, it's a fuel problem-maybe the fuel pump, filter, or injector circuit. Check if gas is getting up to the engine.
Buy an inexpensive "spark tester" at a parts store, and check for spark- if no spark, the ignition circuit will need diagnosed- could be the ignition coil, maybe the electronic ignition module-several possibi9lities. Let me know what you find, or if other questions..

Cant find fuel pump relay on a 93 tempo gl 2.3 eng.

Hi!!

Location of the fuel pump relay for fuel injector models, is either behind the glove box or near the EEC module around the steering column.

Note: This vehicle came up with mechanical and electric fuel pumps. Mechanical fuel pumps do not use a relay.

Fuel pump

Disconnect the negative post on the battery.
Support the tank with a jack with a plywood piece.
Disconnect the metal straps holding the tank.
Slowly lower the tank.
Disconnect the fuel lines from the top of the tank and plug them with a screw or something similar in size.
Remove the retainer ring holding the fuel pump/sending unit with a brass punch and hammer.
Pull the fuel pump/sending unit out and replace it.
