The fuel pressure NEEDS to be checked. around 40 psi would be spec. if it started with ether and it is loosing power, you need to change the fuel filter. they are real easy to change. they are on the passenger side under the hood. pull the two plastic clips on the lines and the new filter should come with new ones. now the way you tell is simply by blowing through the filter to see if its plugged.

A couple of things to check, is the service engine soon light on at any time? Has the fuel filter or fuel pump been serviced in the recent past?
Is the car stalling consistently each time you drive or is this an intermittent problem that happens occasionally?

Based on your description, I would suspect the coolant temperature sensor, fuel pump or filter (clogged). There are other possibilities but this is were I would start based on your description.

Sorry, I do not understand your response. If there is no fuel getting to your injectors then you have a fuel pump system failure. Marking my response as 'inappropriate" does not seem correct on your part.

Ether to start cranks then shut off immediately

Have you checked base fuel pressure with a gauge yet ?
Sounds like the fuel pump may have finally died.

Can not start engine

Check your Inertia switch. It is either behind a front kick panel or in the rear cargo area. It shuts off the power to the fuel pump. Simply hit the reset button and the fuel should flow again.

Let me know if this helped.

I have a 99 ford ranger that will not start unless you spray it with ether. Just one spray it starts right up and will run till you shut it off. But if you drive it it won't shift gears. Any...

well you seem to have a problem with your air intake as you shouldnt need ether to start it also if it isnt shifting gears it could be a mechanical or computer issue all in all you need a mechanic.

1994 Toyota Celica GT doors keep unlocking while I drive.

Hey man i am guessing you have power doors and door locks odds are the door locking switch is going bad i would suggest replacing the switch. Your speed sensor should not have anything to do with it ether.

Have an 03 navigator that wont start, the started is turning over put no catching, acts like it is not getting any fuel

Verify that it's not getting gas by putting a few tablespoons of gas or spraying the throttle body with starting fluid (Ether) and then trying to start.

If it starts that way, then you have a fuel delivery problem, and not a spark problem, as it has gas and spark when you do the latter step.

(TOYOTA SURF 1990 TURBO DIESEL) No diesel coming out of fuel pump

If it has glow plugs or an intake heater you will need to disable the circuit. Then you can use a small amount of ether to spray into the air cleaner.!!! If you spray too much and/or Dont disable the circuits you can damage the motor!!! When you spray the ether, if the engine starts and stalls then its not getting fuel. This could be related to the fuel pump, injection pump, the fuel system loosing its prime(fuel line leak), fuel shut-off valve or solenoid. If it doesn't start then it could be related to your timing, valves or maybe compression.
