make sure the transmission fluid is correct. if there was no problem before the replacement of coil packs & plugs, most likely some of the plugs or coil packs may be defective. (NEW doesn't necessarily mean Good)

I have a 2001 ford f150 5.4 engine, with these dumb coil caps and i want too switch too spark plugs wires and regular coil packs. what special thing do i need to do ? or can i just replace the caps with...

you cant. the ignition is computer controlled. there is a reason why they use coil on set up, and thats because its way more efficiant than plug wires. if your going to spend $ on it then buy 8 good coils and MOTOCRAFT spark plugs. not autolites or champions... motocraft only. that will give u the longest life out of them

How do I replace a coilpac on a 1998 for f150?

They are usually bolted down with a 8mm bolt. Remove that bolt, unplug the connector and pull out the coil pack and boot. Some Fords you'll need to remove the fuel rail to get the coil packs out.

2001 ford 4.6 liter idles rough sometimes dies

may need 1 0r more coil packs replaced,or it could be what happened to my 2000 4.6---1 lifter expanded out and wouldnt collapse, causing the rocker arm to fall out of place and the valve could never open...try unplugging 1 coil pack at a time while running and listen for a change in the way it runs,if there isnt a change then its probably a bad coil pack, find a cylinder that runs and swap the coil packs,if no difference then its probably the valve staying shut.
