Question about 2004 Pontiac Grand Am

Pontiac grand am stalling

2004 pontiac Grand Am is stalling at 1/4 tank gas. Just had oil filter change two weeks ago. Doesn't seem to like to be below 1/4 tank.
Temporarily fixing with gas line antifreeze. Could this be gas filter? sensor?..First car I've had with no spark plugs?

Believe me the motor in your car has spark plugs. unless the engine is a deisel which i highly doubt...you definitely have a fuel problem, or more likely a gas guage problem.where at a 1/4 tank it actually is running on fumes... have it checked at a full service garage..good luck..

Have you tried different gas? That was a problem I had with a Grand Prix I once had. You can also try what i believe is called seafoam. You buy it at the auto parts store. My husband put some in the tank of the car I have now (was sitting a long while before we bought it), and it doesn't seem to hesitate any more.

The fan on my 2004 Grand Prix quit working 2 weeks ago. Checked fuses and that doesn't seem to be the problem. Any ideas?

if its the cooling fan at the rad then your talking about then if you disconnect the plug on the fan and run jumper wires to it directly from the battery it should run.also check the plug connection to make sure its in good condition and no corrosion.if you jump the fan motor and it doesn`t run tap the motor it should run either way if it doesn`t then the cooling fan motor needs replacing.

Did they also check the air filter..Sometimes when they check the air filter they forget to hook it up properly..It can cause a bad vacuum leak make the vehicle run lean..

to reset the check oil light on your car. First put the accelarator pedal to the floor , then while holding down pedal turn the key to the run position without starting vehicle, now quickly pump the accelarator pedal 4 - 5 times and hold pedal to floor on 5th pump. Wait for check oil light to flash then turn off key and remove it . Repeat if neccecary

While i was driving the car acted like it wasn't getting gas and then stalled and now won't start 2004 grand am

sounds like the fuel pump went out. It is located inside the tank. turn the key but dont start and have someone listen for a 1 to 2 second hum by the gas tank. If they hear nothing then your pump is bad. REplace your fuel filter first, it is outside the tank and could be clogged. YOu could get lucky, but I bet your pump is bad.

Oil light flashing, last oil change 7 wks ago

I belive they didn't reset the oil light timer. I belive the sequence is 1. key on (not acc with engine off)
2. step on the brake pedal 5 times within 10 seconds. 3. key off. 4. start car. 5. check if the light went out. you may have to try it a few times to get it.
