The ECT is the "Engine Coolant Temperature". There should be 2 sensors on the engine, one for the ecm (engine computer) and another one for the temp gauge on the dash. I dont have the info to tell you where they are, but near the thermostat housing and the cyl head is the logical place.

2003 Saturn vue V6- alternator- how many wires plug into the alternator and what color are they- thanks

Only two , both are red . One is a heavier gage wire that fastens on the stud on the back of the alternator , this wire comes from the starter an has a fusible link . The next wire is of a smaller gage an should be in a connector that plugs into the alternator , this wire comes from the ECM - engine control module . But both are red !

I am trying to replace my 2004 Saturn Vue stereo with a stereo that doesn't have a place to put the copper wire. The unit lights up, but no power. It is receiving power as indicated by blinking light...

I just did this on my 03 Vue. That copper wire is your ground. The ground is the black wire on your new stereo. The copper wire has a connector at the end of it, I believe it is a female end. You can get a male end for the black wire and simply plug it into the end of the copper wire. I would then take some electrical tape and wrap it up. I hope that helps.

Broken fuel gage

The gauge itself is probably OK. The sender is located inside the gas tank and there are probably a couple of connectors between it and the gauge that can be faulty or corroded. But, in order to chase the cables to find the connectors, you really need to procure a service manual for your car; these will pay for themselves many times over and give you a chance to keep service people honest once you can see how much work any given repair requires. I prefer Haynes manuals and have one for each vehicle we own.

Another handy item to have that isn't costly and would allow you to check the condition of the level sender, is a digital multimeter. These can be found for under $20 US at electronics stores or auto parts stores and are not difficult to use.
