Question about Ford Econoline Cargo

1 Answer

I have a 2006 ford E-350. Between 05mph and 40mph truck wants to turn off. I have changed fuel filter, air filter and taken to the dealer 3 times. Dealer can not seem to fix the problem. Can somebody give me some advise on what the problem is. My rpm drop during this time. When stoped at a red light or stop the van turns off.

Hi.

If track turns off completely, then there may be an electrical problem.

Check battery grounding to the engine and all wiring.

If instead the engine starts revving down and then stop, then it may be a problem with injectors or fuel pump that will happen only occasionally.
This is often caused by wiring problems.

The difficulty with problems that are not always happening, like this one, is that they are difficult to troubleshoot.

I suggest connecting the car to a machine that can draw the waveform of injectors and fuel pump.

Test also the vacuum for leaks that sometimes are difficult to find. A vacuum leak can cause the engine shutting down, particularly when idling.

I also assume that you already did an ECM scan to find error codes. If you have not done it already, go to the nearest Autozone and have it done for free

At speeds of 40mph starts chugging a bit wondering if it could be air filter or coil pack

first thing to try is the fuel filter, if its partly blocked some fuel will pass allowing for some speed, but after more fuel is needed it cant pass fast enough so your car will chug or act like its cutting out, my 94 explorer would run fine up to 35mph, but after that it acted like it didnt have power and even died a few times i changed the fuel filter and the issue went away AGCO Automotive Repair Service Baton Rouge LA Detailed Auto Topics What...

What are the service interval for items on the 2006 toyota prado

For oil and filter - every 3 -5,000 miles. rotate tires at same interval. air filter is on condition, so check it at oil change and clean it until it needs replacement. trans. fluid is on condition along with filter or I believe 60k miles. Belts and hoses are every 3 years or based on condition. Get a maintenance guide from an auto parts store or go to the dealer for an owner's manual, which will have all of this information.

2006 Dodge Durango wont stay running

Sounds like the fuel filter is plugged????? Are it could be the fuel pump????? I would change the fuel filter first. It is usually in the frame under the driver door. Most of the time it is two fitting the unscrew. Go to your local autoparts store and ask to see the filter, and also as if the can help you fine the location on your car????

Ford f350 6.0L Turbo runs rough

Still sounds like there is a fuel issue. I would check the obvious. Check the Air filter and fuel filter and water seperator. Debris could have gotten into the new injector, which also could have upset the other injector. Get the exact code from the dealer your truck experianced.
