0w30 oil is likely Amsoil? If so, even though the manufacturer may not recommend it, it does and will work well in your engine. it is far more thermally stable than conventional oil, resists molecular shear and is far less susceptible to problems from contamination. It pours like puppy **** even when its way below freezing and offers far beyond the protection "at temperature" that the 30 designation infers. i suggest you google "noac volatility tests" and make your decision based upon the facts stated there! You may be surprised at what you find!!

Use the cheapest 20/50 from the local supermarket ,prefferably one thats for a diesel /petrol so its a detergent oil .Then change oil every 6000miles and change the oil filter every third oil change. Then you will never have a problem with hydraulic tappets ,clogged piston rings ,gummed valves or anything else. But you must change it every 6000miles religiously

Can I ues 5-40 synthetic oil in my 2005 2.7 D S Type Jaguar

I would consult the owner's manual or an online forum for Jaguar. Synthetic oil can be used in any engine that regular oil is used in. The weight of the oil should be specified in the owner's manual and probably also on a decal beneath the hood, maybe on the air cleaner. I am not familiar with Jaguars so don't know what they specify. Most modern cars use 5-X muti-vis oil; It is supposed to act like 5 W oil on starts to make it easier to start and to get oil circulating to the top of the engine where it has dripped down since the engine was last run. The X would be the supposed viscosity once the engine is running. You can always use a heavier oil and it will provide better protection of internal parts, particularly at the top of the engine on cold starts but you generally sacrifice a little fuel mileage.

What oil does a kia sportage 2.0l use

  • Hi, i can help.

  • Looks like your vehicle gets the absolute performance out of a 0W30 Full Synthetic Oil. It also says it gets good performance out or 5W30 Full Synthetic oil. So as long as it is a high quality Full Synthetic of 0W30 or 5W30 you will be fine.

  • As for oil types,, Mobile1, Castrol, AMSOIL all make outstanding Full Synthetic Oils.

  • If you have any comments please feel free to leave them here.
  • Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa.

What type of oil does a 2002 jaguar x-type take? I was never given a manual.

The car takes 5w-30 semi synthetic oil. However, if you have never put synthetic oil in the car I would recommend using regular oil. I would also advise you check with your local jaguar dealer. The reason for this is if your car is not use to that kind of oil from day one it could cause seal leaks.

What oil grade for my 2.5 liter engine and can it be synthetic

The manual says that the oil depends on the C°/F°, but they suggest an 5W30 oil for a wide range of temps, NOT SYNTHETIC for 6 cylnder engines, it´s a "thin" oil, but better check your owners manual

I had the valve cover gasket changed on my 1996

on a v6 ? Low on oil? rear cam plugs leaking? The lifters are on the end of the rocker arms and may get clogged. I have had some luck running 0w30 mobil synthetic for about a week or so with a new oil filter [Not a fram filter] and after that put 10w30 synthetic oil back in and a new filter. Check for oil leaking at other locations. If the noise is at the front of engine near water pump it may be the hydraulic timing belt tensioner.
