Sounds like the ignition switch is failing. Tires come in different composites for short or longer life. Cheaper tires, poor alignment and driving styles can cause early wear where as high mileage tires and easy driving with a good 4 wheel alignment can last sometimes upwards of 100,000 miles. service manuals are available online or at you local auto parts store for around $25.

Sometimes when I turn the key everything lights up but nothing happens. So I turn the key off and try again and it starts. What is the problem?

You better be doing timing belts, no more
then 90,000 or 6 years or kiss the motor
goodby when it breaks or jumps

You checked the battery?

Tried the ignition several times,the
switch may be worn or the starter failed

I have 1992 isuzu pup truck.sometimes i turn the key to crank it and there is nothing noise wize,no clicking nothing.the dash lights come on,battery is good.i turn the key another time and it cranks r

you need an ignition switch. One way to figure it out is to turn the key to engage the starter, quickly........over and over, the "catch and start" will happen with no change and suddenly, its engaged. Or, keep the key in the START position, don't let up on it and hit the steering column with your fist, or the steering wheel. It may just be shorting out.

I have a 2005 Pacifica with 90,000 miles. It just recently sporadically will not start. When I turn the key, it clicks, the lights, radio, etc. will turn on. I had the battery replaced and they checked...

The starter solenoid may be faulty. If you know where it is, short the two battery terminals, on the solenoid, together with a scewdriver or something similar. If the starter turns then the solenoid is faulty.

if an ignition switch fails, sometimes you can jiggle the key and it will start right up. its very hard to tell. but if you can start it by bypassing the ignition switch, then its the switch itself. go to this site for more detailed info--- aa1car.com/library/1999/cm119948.htm---this page should help. click on top link.

Engine dying while running full speed and sometimes at idle. Appears to be an ignition problem. At highway speeds the truck will restart itself while in drive. At slower speeds it has to be put in neutral...

This is an electrical problem, I had this last winter where the car was restarting or the starter was not disengaging. The problem was with the starter. the contacts that meet the plunger in the starter were grooved severely and binded with the contacts.
I had to replace the contacts inside the starter.

Should the barrings be replaces after 90,000

if everything seems okay then replace the wheel bearing. Sometimes they will make all kinds of noise and you thinks it's coming from some other part. Replacing them after 90,000 only if they are giving you a problem which in this case it sounds like it's giving you a problem.

In some honda s the PISTON and the VALVE share the same space ,check if your honda does or not ,because you wil have to re build that motor if that happens, timing belts are at every 90,000 miles

1992 vette wont start for about 20 minutes

I have seen this alot on the 90 ish vettes and it is going to be something to do with the security. When you have time I would just take it to the dealership so they can scan it and find out which part is bad and loosing memory.
