I had my 2009 mitsubishi lancer for 2 mouths now ,and my gas mileage is bad to like I get 45.5 when I should get 100.5 when I drop down one line

likely dropped into the gas tank, and, with any luck, there should be access if you remove the rear seat coushin

it could have two one in the engine bay near the fuel parts. the other one is under the car 2/3s way down near the fuel lines

check all the vacuum hoses make sure none are cracked or broken. sometimes they toughen up and crack and cause things like high idle and bad gas mileage.

There are 2 things to affect the gas millage: 1- Air filter is dirty. 2- O2 sensor is bad. I give a feedback to ECM to adjust fuel injection to maintain the Air: fuel ratio of 14.6 :1. It is now running rich because ECm didn't know the ration is now < 14.6:1 since O2 sensor didn't report this situation so ECm didn't adjust fuel injection to meet the golden ratio. Check these out and replace them to address the problem. Good luck.

Water in gas. Drain tank and refill. Clean fuel lines.

try a tune up. When is the last time you have replaced the spark plugs, wires, fuel filter etc...? all these things can worsen your fuel mileage if they are not changed like the should. Along with a dirty air filter.
