Question about 1990 Toyota Tercel
Engine seems to run a bit on the hot side is this ok? just bought a 1990 Toyota tercel dx. 135,000 km. very clean. Indicator gauge goes up a bit when driving.. Like at the 3/4 mark?
This could be an indication of a problem coming. Check the radiator grills and make sure they are clean. (Not the body covering but the grills themselves) You can clear these with High pressure water spraying from inside the engine compartment to the outside. Second consider replacing the Thermostat. Obviously you first want to make sure you have a proper fluid level in the radiator. In a closed system there may be air vent valves to bleed air off the system as an air bubble can cause the water not to cycle correctly. Finally, it could be the water pump itself, I don't think that is the problem but it is possible.
