Go to GM Parts Direct online and order both clips.

Part Numbers: 15938039 & 15938040

Both clips will work on front and rear doors. You'll need to order each part number (left and right) for each door.

The parts can be purchased at Auto Zone or if they are special order there the dealer parts center near you. As for instructions on how to do the repair, I recommend the Haynes repair manual for your make and model vehicle also normally available at Auto Zone.

Driver side window came off track

it is not off track. the grinding or metal scratching noise is from the window regulator cable that has broke off from the plastic idler pulley on regulator and is now wound up on the motor. you need a new window regulator.

2002 Cadillac deville. Window off track. Can I put it back on track or better to go to dealership?

It's not "off Track"

The window regulator broke. Just buy the regulator and not the whole power window assembly. It is a pain to do, but can be done by yourself.

unscrew the interrior door panel and pull it back from the door, you should see 2 long pins running the from the top of the door down to the bottom and a plastic strip with gear teeth on one side.
to put i back on track simply re-align the clips to the pins and make sure the plastic strip is on track and attached tothe bottom of the windoe and the teeth are through the motor on the bottom of the door frame. You can buy any of the parts needed to repair the window at most automotive stores.

How to replace power window motor for 2003 dodge

That's unusual for a window motor to go bad, however the plastic track breaks causing the window to become inoperative. If you hear the window motor working, then the plastic geared strip is probably broken. It would be cost effective to you to first find out whether the plastic track is broken for now Chrysler sells a "generic" window track where you cut the plastic track to fit Your Vehicle. Should this be the case, then remove the door panel (a Haynes Manual would come in handy), and take out one pin in the plastic track, while supporting the Window! (smile) and remove the old track and re-install the new track.

A little secret here...buy some Mopar Speedometer Grease while buying the Window Track and grease the metal rail that the plastic track rides on. The Speedometer grease is NOT temperature sensitive, so it works well in Summer & Winter Temperatures.

Should it truly be your Window Motor, Chrysler sells a re-build kit for the Window Motor which has the gears and grease needed to replace the worn out ones in the head of the Window Motor rather than paying for a "Brand New" window motor. All of this (the plastic window track AND the Window Motor Kit), will be under $100.

I hope this helps you,
Let me know if this resolves your problem.

Power window

if you can hear the motor humming or running chances are that your window is off track an jammed or the motor s just humming an has no power to bring the window up, driver side window is the first one to go out because it gets more use of than all the other windows. the ony better way to find out is to remove the door panel an make sure you use the right tool to remove the plastics studs , because you don't want to bust the plastic studs behind the door panel.

2000 bonneville, one rear cable on the left rear power window

On my 2000 bville, all four of my windows came off. All four had the same problem. the upper and lower cables go around the pulleys then connect to a plastic piece connected to the track. This plastic piece breaks and lets the cable free. I fixed them all by removing motor assembly and reconnecting the cable with coat hangar wire. Kind of a redneck fix, I know, but beat paying 160 dollars per window for a new assembly that would probably break again!! Good luck!!

Power window inop

The plastic strip in the window regulator track broke. It is replaceable by a qualified tech or if you are pretty handy. you can go to the dealer and get the strip. remove the door inner panel and expose the regulator and window by removing the clear plastic (put this back in when reassembling or you will hear alot of road noise and have trouble keeping heat in in the winter). if you can't get the part you can at least out the mindow up now and wedge something in it so you can get somewhere at least if it's raining out. When you get the parts from the dealer they can show you how it goes in as it is hard to explain but I will if you need me to. Good luck.
