Question about 1990 Audi 100

1990 Audi alarm/starting issues

I've looked all thru this forum and could not find anybody who ran into the same problem I'm having. Currently my 100 is having some issues with the factory alarm, and starting.
When I initially start the car I usually have no problem. I just pump the gas a little while I'm turning the key and it usually starts up with no problem. In the one in ten chance that it fails to start, I do the same thing again and I get nothing. I try the same thing again about five to ten minutes later and it usually starts right up. I just replaced the rotor button cause it was worn and thought that was the issue, however it did not resolve the problem. The distributor cap is only about a year old. When I shut the car off I immediately hear the horn go off but it's not the alarm sounding as it's only one beep.

As far as the alarm goes, it's been acting strange since the starting issue has come into my life, and I'm sure they are linked. Whenever I open one of the doors the alarm will go off. It silences when I put the key in the drivers side door (this is the only door lock that works right now) turn it clockwise and it silences the alarm.

Has anybody ever ran into a problem like this and/or do you have any suggestions as to what I should do.

1996 audi wont start sometimes and the alarm goes off

1996 Audi if you are a aftermarket alarm look under the steering column and the dash area look for a small push button or a black push button when you find it push it and try to start the car,and if you are a aftermarket alarm you can adjust the sensitivity it on the transducer, If you are a manufacature alarm you ll have to find a auto electric tech who can remove the alarm this will consist of bypassing the alarm relays, and the alram horn

1990 dodge dynsty le the factory alarm is set and we cannot get it to turn off. we have tried to unlock doors from both sides of vehicle and have turned ignition on and off but still no luck. car ran fin...

In 1990 the alarm installed by chrysler was still considered after market. The problem is you have to find the control box. If this alarm is giving you this problem now you might as well find the box and remove it from the electrical system. It is usually located near the fuse panel or steering column. Now you would think it would have plug connectors but it might not. Since alarms where not incorporated into the ECM in that year you are looking for a small black box with 4 to 6 wires on one side comeing from teh ignition switch area and running through the firewall. If you have an alarm horn it is possible that you might find an in-line fuse you can pull to resolve this issue, You will have to trace the wires. If it were incorporated in the vehicles original design there would be a fuse in the fuse block you could pull.

How do i shut off the alarm on my Audi 100 s 1994?

Ok this is audi own alarm and was fitted as standard, alarm is found in the back of the car, and is oporated when you lock the car with the key. So it could be a control box fault.

Audi tt remote won't work, i,ve tried everything

The remotes have to be readapted by a dealer scan tool or someone who has Vagcom.  Make sure you have both keys when doing this.  If adaption doesn't take then there is a good chance the remote/s are bad.
