Today after checking all the grounds & bulbs, which work.I noticed when sitting behind the wheel that there are some wires showing on the turning signal lever that when i push in on the wires the brake lights work when i have my foot on the pedal. Could it be my turn signal switch?

Hi there, I know you posted this problem awhile ago but I hoping you could share your solution w/me. I am having the exact problem w/mine. I just bought it and cannot pass inspection. Like yourself, I know it's not the fuses or bulbs, What was your outcome?
    thx,

If the bulbs are good, check for a bad local grounding point.

Yes, the stop lights are routed through the turn indicator switch. The switch interrupts the stop light signal on that side and inserts the flashing signal to the rear and front lights together. You probably need to repair or replace the turn switch. The steering wheel must be removed to get at the switch. Disconnect the battery negative cable and let sit for about 10 minutes to allow the air bag firing mechanism to discharge before pulling the wheel. If you have a Delco radio with anti-theft, there is a special code that you have to know before removing the battery connector or the radio won't work afterward.

08 Buick lucerne cxl. Third brake light works as well as front signal lights. No rear brake lights or turn signals. Tail lights and headlights and third brake lights works. Bulbs good. Help

Stop Lamps
The brake pedal position sensor is used to sense the action of the driver application of the brake pedal. The body control module (BCM) provides a 5-volt reference voltage and low reference to the brake pedal position sensor. The position sensor provides an analog voltage signal back to the BCM that will increase as the brake pedal is applied. When the brake is applied, the BCM will then apply battery voltage to the left and right stop/turn signal lamp supply voltage circuits and the center high mounted stop lamp (CHMSL) supply voltage circuit illuminating the stop lamps. At the same time the BCM applies battery voltage through the signal circuit to the transmission control module (TCM) and the engine control module (ECM) indicating that the brakes are applied.
Ground for the stop lamps is supplied as follows:
• G402 provides ground for the left rear stop/tail/turn signal lamps
• G403 provides ground for the right rear stop/tail/turn signal lamps
• G301 provides ground for the CHMSL
The stop lamps on this vehicle will not illuminate unless the ignition is in the accessory, run, or crank positions. When the ignition is in the OFF position the stop lamps will not illuminate when the brake pedal is applied.
Battery voltage from the LT TRN/SIG and RT TRN/SIG fuses located in the rear fuse block is also used by the body control module (BCM) for stop lamp operation.

Turn Signal Lamps
Battery voltage supplied to the body control module (BCM) from the fuses listed below is used for turn signal and hazard lamp operation.
• LT TRN/SIG fuse for the left turn signals
• CTSY/RF TRN fuse for the right front turn signal
• RR TRN/SIG fuse for the right rear turn signal
When the turn signal switch is place in either the LEFT or RIGHT position, ground from G300 is applied through the turn signal switch signal circuit to the BCM indicating the turn signal request. In response to this signal, the BCM applies a pulsating voltage to the front and rear turn signal lamps supply voltage circuits cycling the lamps ON and OFF. At the same time the BCM sends a GMLAN serial data message to the instrument panel cluster (IPC) to cycle the appropriate turn signal indicator ON and OFF.
Ground for the turn signal lamps is supplied as follows:
• G104 provides ground for the left and right front turn signal lamps
• G402 provides ground for the left rear stop/tail/turn signal lamps
• G403 provides ground for the right rear stop/tail/turn signal lamps

Third eye works no rear signal or brake lights

The high mount brake light gets its own signal from the brake light switch (on the brake pedal). Or at least the wire leaving the brake light switch will splice, one wire to the high mount brake light, and the other for the rear brake lights is routed through the turn signal switch, and coordinated there with the turn signal wires to the rear brake lights. The brake wires and turn signal wires share the same wire, and same filament in the bulbs. It is kind of complicated, but brakes applied with no turn signal, brake light wire goes from brake light switch through the turn switch and out to the bulbs. If brakes applied with turning signal, non blinking brake light wire goes from turn switch to rear light, while the turning signal wire will go through the flasher relay, and then to the rear light to cause blinking.

I hope that makes sense. It appears the problem may be in the turn signal switch for both the turn signals and the rear brake lights.

Tail lights work but not brake lights 93 toyota camry

The brake light side of the bulbs is powered by the brake switch and travels thru the turn signal switch.
If the third brake light works, I would guess the problem is in the turn signal switch.

1997 Chevy Lumina REAR BRAKE LIGHTS DONT WORK

This will either be a fuse or the brake light switch which is on the pedal it's self. More likely the switch as these are fickle at best.

replace the brake light switch mounted on the bracket by the brake pedal. You need to adjust it to operate correctly also. The third brake light works off a different circuit when applying brakes

All lights work on the rear except the three brake lights

Sounds like the brake light switch has a problem. Located above brake pedal and activated with the brake pedal arm. Check for power going in and coming out when you apply the brake.
