Question about 2001 Chevrolet Malibu
Ck and clean the maf sensor. It is located in the intake ducting. Get a can of CRC electriccal cleaner spray and wash the sensor as thoroughly as possible. Do not try to remove it from the mounting. Do not rub it, brush it or touch it. It is a very sensitive sensor and just as costly to replace. Do not used compresse air, Just spray wash and let dry. The Mass Air Flow Sensor MAF monitors the intake air density and velocity and tells the computer how much fuel is needed for a proper air fuel ratio mix. This would be your first suspect, Then look to the throttle positioning sensor. This sensor advises the computer of where your foot is. There should be a smooth acceleration if this sensor is ok. No flat spots or stuttering at certain spots. This sensor has to be replaced if faulty.
