Have a 1999 Dodge Avenger V6. Keeps blowing Engine Fuse under hood

Fusible link 3 feeds the PCM. the ASD relay, and fuel pump relay. Assuming it has A/T, that fusible link also feeds the starter relay, the EATX-ECM, and the EATX relay. A short in any of those elements could be causing the trouble.

The alternator and power steering are on one belt for a V6 engine, and on different belts for a 4 cylinder.

How to change altenator belt on 1996 dodge avenger

Their should be a belt tension pulley that that applies the tension to the belt. In most cases it will take a 1/2 drive rachet, or a socket the will go in side the pulley or a socket that go over a bolt. The you pull back to release the tension on the belt, and it will come off. Just remember how it came off and the new one back on the same way.

2002 chevrolet pick up v6 excessive noise from belts replaced idler and tensioner ,no help power steering works fine ,altenator charging, a/c ok water pump ok rotated altenator, by hand when changing...

I would suspect the altenator, A/C pulley, or the belt. when you checked the altenator and a/c they have to turn smoothly with no play or roughness. If these checked out fine then I would check the belt, they do stretch.

98 Dodge Avenger 2.5L V6 isn't getting any spark.

Do you mean it's actually grinding while trying to start or it just cranks & won't fire?If it's the latter,i've had to replace 2 distributors on my 99 2.5 because the sensor which isn't serviceable has failed.

1997 dodge avenger 2.0, belt squealing

The Power Steering Belt tension requires adjustment, to give it more tension, to cure the slipping, resulting in the squealing, or perhaps renewal, due to cracking or excessive wear.

Your Power steering Belt, belt is your primary problem.

Good Luck !

The lights dim when the steering wheel is turned

my first thought is it is not your battery if the durango starts up fine. i would go right to your belt. sounds to me like it is slipping. it may be just worn and stretched a bit, not allowing it to properly turn and generate power to the altenator. a rule of thumb is if your belts and hoses are over 5 years old replace them no matter how the look. my second thought would be the altenator, not putting enough juice out to charge the system. but try your belt first
