Radio works but cd player does not i have cds in it but it won't let me play. Now it clicks even when there is no power going to it. This happened when changed battery

Have a 2004 Durango the CD player stop working today,we have not discounted battery and the radio works fine so I don't think its the fuse. Any suggestions. We are leaving in the morning for a road trip...

Have a 2004 Durango, had to disconnect the battery and I think it may have blown a fuse to the cd player, but the radio still works. Need a diagram to the fuse panel.

usually Radio and CD systems are loaded on same fuse... check if there is a self diagnostic feature on this system

I cant insert a cd into my 6 disc cd player

hold the power button down for 60 seconds or pull the fuse to the radio to reset the cd player

CD Player Not Recognized after battery replacement

pull clock, radio, cd player, memory and backup cam (if equiped) to reset system. Some systems need to be recoded, not for sure about that system.

Battery drain

Can't say if it is the cause of your drain or not, but the radio fuse is slot F7 and requires a 25-amp fuse.

I HAD AN AN MVA IN 1/2009 (REAR ENDED ANOTHER VEHICLE) MY RADIO/CD PLAYER WORKED PRIOR/AND IMMEDIATELY AFTER ACCIDENT. THE NEXT DAY MY TRUCK WOULDN’T START, BATTERY WAS COMPLETELY DEAD. I RETRIEVED MY TRUCK 3/2009 ….. MY RADIO WILL PLAY, HOWEVER, I AM UNABLE TO CHANGE MODE FROM TUNER TO CD PLAYER, CD PLAYER JUST MAKES A NOISE AS IF ITS CHANGING DISK, THIS SOUND CAN BE HEARD WHEN I UNLOCK MY DOORS WITH OUT IGNITION ON; .....ANY SOLUTIONS OR ADVICES IS WELCOME

Cd player quit working after i changed the battery radio still works fine.

kzingraff, I have a similar situation to Craig Waldie. I have a 2005 Durango and the CD player has not worked since I replaced the battery. Just like his 2004, the radio works perfectly, just not able to use the CD player. How can this issue be fixed?

1st try to hit the eject button multiple times in a row. If this doesn't work you have 3 options.
1= pull the radio unit, disassemble case, gingerly remove CD, and reassemble.
2=Go to dealer or repair shop and have them remove. If you have a warranty left, mopar should be able to help. Factory radios have been a problem with Mopar for years.
3= Go buy a new CD and forget about it
