Question about Chevrolet C1500
Ahh the old chevy rear light problem..... they have a history of having melt down problems. remove the rear light assy. Have a test meter or test light and check the plug for voltage. If you have power to the socket look at the rear panel where the light go for some plastic that melted. They often have issues with that. They cost 60 bucks at the dealer. If you have no power to the light assymbly start looking at the wire loom and trace back till you find voltage then look for a break in the wire.

You need to check the fuse to the tail lights with a test light, ground the test light and turn the ignition on,this will assure power, see if the test light will light on both sides of the fuse, touch the fuse on the top, there are two places that expose the fuse.If this fuse is dead on one side, and not the other, replace the fuse,if it is dead on both sides, replace the head light switch. If this truck has a trailer harness on it,and it is the type that is inline, unplug the harness, and remove from the truck, and plug the two harnesses left on the truck back together, and see if that will fix the problem. If this is any help,at all, please let us know, than you.Any questions, just ask.
