Your solenoid could be shorting out or worn out. They lights will look bright, but as soon as you crank motor, the lights dim. Or if your battery cable connections are not metal-to-metal contact, they will do this as well. Many GM's, especially bonnevilles, have the rubber ends on end of battery cables, These rubber ends prevent a tight metal to metal connection. I had to use washers on two bonnevilles I worked on.

Check battery cables, ignition cables, (which you can also test with an ohmmeter) And also you can test the relay with an ohmmeter as well. Do you have anti-theft unit on this car? Is the light on or blinking?
If so, put key in ignition, leave in ON postion (do not start) for EXACTLY 10 minutes. As SOON as the light shuts off, then IMMEDIATELY start the car.

Sounds like a dead battery. Try giving a boost and then if it starts, have the charging system tested

Why does my dash lights work but the car wont start

Starter needs 9.5 volts minimum but dash lights will light with far less. Is the engine turning over or totally dead. If dead battery is bad or discharged.

It wont start turn key dash lights up nothing happens

sounds like a dead battery to start with. Not even enough juice in the battery to energize the solenoid / brake interlock to get it out of PARK. Hope this helps

2001 chevy blazer not starting

I had this same problem with my 1997 Blazer, which required a fuel pump replacement as Nitrobike said. The sign to look for is when you get in the Blazer, turn your key forward to the accessory position, but not the start position. You should hear the fuel pump charging. It sounds like a hissing or whirring noise for about 2-3 seconds while it pumps fuel into the lines to prime the engine.

Fuel pump replacement isn't cheap, about $700-$1000.
