I have a 2004 Toyota Avalon. The 115v power outlet (in back seat area, bottom of back side of center console) does not work. I have tried several fuses - no luck. Help

The exact fuse for the power outlet. That would be inside the car, the lower finish panel by your left foot, a 15 amp fuse marked on the cover "Power Outlet". -------- check out that fuse.also you can connect additional 12 volt power source to the 115 v power outlet to make it work. Its bit of modification that has to be done.Click this link for its procedure:--- --------------- This should help.thanks.Helpmech.

The power outlet in the front drivr side by the cup holder doesnt work.

The power outlets get their power from the power outlet relay. The power outlet relay gets its power from fuse #21 in the Power Distribution Center (PDC) in the engine compartment. It is a 20 Amp fuse. If the other power outlet works, it is not caused by the relay or the fuse. You most likely would have a broken wire or defective power outlet in this case.

2006 Dodge Dakota - power outlet doesn't work. The #28 fuse checks fine.

Take a 12v test light and wrap the probe with electrical tape, leave about
1/4" exposed. With the key on, ground the test light wire and insert the
probe into the outlet and touch it to the center power contact. If the light
stays out and you have a good ground, you don't have +power at the
outlet. If the fuse is good, you may have a bad wire or socket. But if it
lights up, we go to the next step. Touch the probe to a known +power
source and ground the wire to the metal side in the outlet. If you don't
get light, check the ground for the outlet socket. Repair as needed.
If it lights up, then you know you have power and ground. Check the
plug on the device you're trying to use. I hope I was of some help.
Good luck.

I have a power outlet How can i make it into a lighter?

Short answer - don't.

Longer answer - even if you can buy a lighter from an auto parts store and make it work in a power outlet, you'll melt your dash.

Power outlets are designed to deliver power, but not to take the heat of a lighter. Lighter outlets are wrapped in multiple layers of metal and thermal insulation so they can safely hold a hot lighter, and none of that is present on a power outlet.

2008 Dodge Gr. Caravan 115 volt outlet

If there is power to the inverter from the switch, then there is a good chance that the inverter has gone bad. It looks like your van is a year old and the inverter may still be covered under warranty. Good luck and hope this helps. Good Luck and keep me posted, Be glad to help. The other thing to, the inverter it self may have a fuse on it that may have gone bad too, but i am not sure. Start with the warranty first and we can go from there, may be one of the technician can confirm that there is a extra fuse in the inverter.

Spare 12 volt power outlet failure

First probe the center contact in the power outlet with 12V test and confirm power or not. ( check with ign on since some outlets might only have power with the key or engine on ) If no power and all other interior items operate, remove outlet and check connection. It might not have ever been connected since being built. It happens .
