    More details, please. This problem could be a result of a plethora of potential problems (i.e bad/ excessively worn crankshaft bearings, worn camshaft rocker arm shafts, low oil level, defective oil pump, etc.). I would start with the oil pressure control valve on the top of the head beneath the valve cover and the camshaft.

why?
tell full symptoms, i bet it not the pump.
which engine.2.2 or 3.2. there are 3 engine in USA. used

the #1 causes of low pressure ,is running the wrong oil viscosity.

Have a gauge hooked up to low pressure fuel pump and it shows it works but high presssure one doesnt


Check to see you have oil up to full on dipstick . The high pressure pump picks up oil at the top level so if oil starts to get to low engine will stop before engine damage . The high pressure pump is what makes the injectors fire . Also check the wires that go thru valve cover some times they burn up and you can smell the burn thru the oil filler cap .

do u have enough oil in it ,is you light giving a false reading get a manual oil pressure gauge and make sure or your oil pump can be going bad , your main bearing are going bad , be more specific here ,

Working on a 1999 f250 superduty with the 7.3 in it low oil pressure concern how can I test the oil pressure. Can I. Do it with a normal oil pressure gauge


what gives you the concern about the oil pressure dash gauge reading low to no or does engine run hot and make unnatural noises ?

if the dash gauge is in question the pressure sender for it is a less expensive place to start and of course a manual gauge screwed into block should read about 30 psi at idle and go to 90+ at speed sender is under driver side exaust manafold towards front
if you know you have no to low oil presssure I would start at the OIL cooler it is located under driver side exaust manafold (tube looking thing ) this contains O rings that give out over time sometimes a dead ringer for this is finding oil in the coolant
other than that there could be a multitude of reasons for low to no oil pressure that will require some dissasmbly to find them

2 reasons either you are low on oil or oil pressure switch is bad check your oil level first.
