It could be drive shaft joint. the car is rear wheel drive with independant suspension. I do not think there is a bearing there. It may also be the brakes need replacing.

I have a 2007 Volvo s40 that makes a loud growling humming sound when driving just had new tires put on and it didn't change the noise.

You may have a faulty wheel bearing, if it's the front you may feel it in the steering wheel, turning side to side the noise may increase or decrease. If the noise is coming from the rear, you may feel it in your seat.

I just had my 2007 Volvo S40 right front wheel bearing replaced. However, there is still a roaring noise coming from the front of the car when I turn the wheel to the right. My mechanic told me that...

Turning to the right changes the load on the left, but that
isn't the problem

The problem is poor diagnoses & failure to replace both
wheel bearings when one fails

After all-- they both have the same mileage on them

How do I pull/replace rear wheel bearings on 1995 Mitsubishi Montero sport?

i assume you mean **** when you type *****,just say ****.this sounds like the rear tires may be out of blance or has a defect in the tire(s).a wheel bearing won`t cause a vibration unless the bearing is so bad its about to or is coming apart.a wheel bearing will make a noise like a humming or growling noise.have teh wheel balance check and the condition of the tires checked for belt separation or bulges.

A BAD WHEEL BEARING CAUSING WHEEL LOCK UP WILL CAUSE ABS LIGHT TO COME ON.CHECK ALL OF YOUR WHEELS OR TIRES AND SEE WHICH ONE THATS BARLY TURNING WHERE WHEEL BEARING SEIZING UP.

I have a 1993 Volvo I purchased new almost 17

Could be tire noise, could be rear wheel bearing, differential (if rear wheel driven), or could be something associated with the brake.

Try swapping the tire with another tire. If the noise moves with the tire, it's the tire. If it stays, it's brakes (unlikely for the noise you mention), rear wheel bearing, or rear differential (lack of oil). Will probably need to have a mechanic to identify and repair.

It makes a grinding noise and only on the passenger side. just started making noise when turning

Check brakes, then check axle bearing. If brakes check out OK, then jack up so the wheel is off the ground, put car in neutral, now spin the wheel and put one hand on the coil spring, if you feel any roughness, the bearing is bad.

2006 Volvo S60 AWD rear humming noise

Wheel bearing is the most likely cause. Prob a 1.5-2 hour labor rate job in the shop.
