Try cleaning up underhood at a local car wash. Hopefully that will solve the problem. You can also use electrical cleaner around all the electrical plugs. They come in spray bottles, and wont harm sensors, or plastic. Good luck

Your thermostat is sticking. Replace your thermostat. It's dirt cheap and honda thermostats break all the time.
This is what I mean by thermostat. Make sure you get some gasket sealant and a new gasket on there too, and be prepared for reaching your hands in to small places. Also make sure the engine is COLD before you do this.

Honda civic 2004 changed radiator, thermostat control, changed cylinder head with machine shop, new fan...still temp rises beyond half..mechanic told me to fix engine block and machine shop again cylinder...

the gauge is going above half, but is it actually over heating? could be a faulty coolant temp sensor sending an incorrect temperature. when you changed the radiator, was the rad cap also changed? if the cap is not holding correct pressure, it will lower the boiling temp of the coolant and cause it to overheat. an infra red thermometer is very useful for diagnosing this, point it at the thermostat housing and see what the temp is there, that will tell you whether the temp gauge is accurate or not. good luck!

Why does my temperature gauge go up when i turn on my heater

My guess would be low coolant, when you open the valve to let coolant into the heater core, the level drops in the radiator below where the temp sensor is, if is not in coolant, then the sensor is reading steam which is hotter than coolant. If this is the case, it can pose a dangerous situation, steam in the coolant system builds up pressure, if you remove the radiator cap while it is hot, coolant will spray everywhere causing severe burns. Let the car cool down completely, like overnight. then remove the cap and check the coolant level, it should be full to the top. My other guess would be if the coolant is low, the headgasket is the culprit.

My mechanic told me I need a transmission sensor could you please tell me where I could buy that at? I have looked everywhere for it.It is a 1991 honda civic dx.

I think your mechanic is talking about a VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor). Are you having trouble with your gauges, speedometer, or shifting points, etc...?

I have a civic dx 1995, it doesn't turn-on well

I bought a civic 1995 dx 1.5 engine, The coworker I got it from
got it and it would not restart after you drive it a while,
once it set a while it would restart.
he tried new fuel pump, distributor, wires, filter,
and found it to be the fuel pressure relay, aprox 20-30 dollar item.
Hope this helps, Larry
