If your oil/gas mixture had been inadequate in past, it would have worn out the piston rings, causing it to loose compression. Try to measure the compression if its within range.

How to start Echo PB 265L blower, I cleaned and replaced all relative parts to the fuel system. I have a spark and compression.

Place funnel on can large enough to catch fuel in tank. Place paper towel in funnel so that all fuel runs through the towel pour slowly and completely look at the results in towel. Is there water trapped in towel or extremely dirty fuel? You may have also heard or seen the fuel filter fall into the towel. If any or all of these problems exist you will have to remove, disassemble, and clean the carburetor. You may also have to replace the fuel lines. Clean the tank by spraying carb. Cleaner in it then turning upside down and pour out then blow out tank with compressed air.

Hi i have a 1989 toyota corolla 1600 dublle overhead cam with automatic gearbox when it is iddeling it is fine but when you put it in drive it starts to mis and dont whant to run and it battles to ref

Is the heck engine light on? If so, you need to get the code read. If not, check for loose connection around the air intake and mass air flow sensor. Also check for disconnected vacuum hoses.

I would also run some SeaFoam through the air intake. Cheap and can't hurt.

Does it start to run after you get going? Does it keep missing?

Engines need three things: Compression, fuel, and spark at the right time. Sounds like you have fuel and compression. Spark is controlled by electronics. You may need a diagnostic tool if it is not displaying check engine light and throwing codes.

Won't start 1990 jeep cherokee laredo

Technically if the engine has compression, is getting spark at the right time and fuel, it should start.
Have you checked the spark plugs to see if they are fuel or oil fouled ?
Are you getting spark at the plugs or at the coil ?
Have you tried using carb cleaner or starting fluid in the throttle body ??
Have you checked fuel pressure to see if you are getting enough fuel to the injectors ?

Has fuel won't start

Older Vehicle i am Not sure but if its carbureted then check ur floats. If its getting fuel to the Injectors/Carburetor then its electric! Check For Spark or Mani fold air Leak by spraying starting fluid on the manifold & Carb. if it kicks then u no the problem lies around there. if no luck then its either bad compression or Spark issue.. New Plugs ? Coils ? Check for spark if its getting Fuel.

Hope This Helps :)

The engine rotates but won,t start. installed a new fuel filter, spark plugs(gapped @ .040"), new spark plug wires, and a new camshaft sensor. the car might have run out of gas. the data link...

It sounds like a timing issue if you are getting fuel, spark and air then I would look at that first. is the crank shaft sensor good?

Where is the fuel pump on a 1973 winnebago dodge 318? It will turn over, but will not start. Do you think its the fuel pump or something else? It has not been started for several years. Thank you so much...

Try putting a little gas in the top of the carb. Then try to start, if it starts then it's a fuel problem, clogged filter, lines, carb or fuel pump. If it doen't start with the gas then check for spark, disconnect a spark plug wire put on a spare spark plug, ground plug threads to motor and have someone turn over motor. You should see a spark between plug and electrode. Also you could check compression of engine, rings could be siezed and no compression will mean no start. If low or no compression, pour wd-40 or other lubricant into spark plug holes and let sit for a couple of days. Hopefully that would unsieze rings.

Had the head redone, new Carb fitted, new distributor cover and leads new spark plugs, crank timing set to mark (0)and cam timing (2e)set to mark on head. the engine swings, fires from the carb, spark on...

Sounds like you have your timing off. If it is backfiring, that means that 2 of your wires are crossed, causing the plugs to fire on the exhaust stroke versus the compression stroke. Recheck your timing.
