That is the mechanism inside snapping. Either way it calls for repairs. The whole assemble can be purchased only at the dealer. Or maybe the junkyard. Open it up the door panel to see what is going on. If the mechanism is bad take them off, and replace with another one.

Yes, electrical system in a car do not make pop. The only thing that make loud pop in a circuit is a large electrolytic capacitor when it pops because of reverse current or overvoltage. They are not found in cars. Since you have to hold it up, it is the mechanism.

Sounds like an electrical short in your door panel. open your door. take your door panel off and look for any crossed wires that may have caused your window motor to short out. you will need a new power window motor if this happened. good luck

Why do the power windows on the drivers side roll half way down?

I have heard of this problem when the window regulator has been changed or disconnected from the car. There is a procedure you need to do before you install it (I don't know exactly what the procedure is).

Sounds like the window regulator broke (the mechanism that moves your window up and down). It has cable to do the lifting the window up and pulling the window down. These cables do break.

Got in my car, went to roll down the window and heard a pop. Then the window rolled all the way down and now it won't roll up.

Sounds like the window track fell off the window regulator. Sometimes you can replace the roller that goes between regulator & motor, but most times you will need to replace window regulator. Take off interior door panel & see which option is possible.

Fuse box diagram

it can't possibly be a fuse if your front windows are working.
i also have a 94 taurus and this same thing has occured, the L-R window won't move at all. but all of my other windows work. it is probably a bad window motor. I've heard a lot about 94's having this problem. take it to the dealer and see if they have any Technical Service Bulletins about this.
