Heat problem. Heater only works sometimes. Blows out almost AC temperature majority of the time. No engine overheating problems. May or may not be related to actuator issue (vent always open)

Check to see if your heating system is properly filled. Air in system can often prevent the proper flow of hot coolant into the radiator core resulting in your issue.

How do i reset climate control

There are a couple of options. Disconnect the battery, then drive the vehicle around without using the AC for 10 min, if the AC is defaulted to come on after a battery interuption, then shut the car down then turn it on again. You are trying to get the electronic actuator to reset and resume proper function. Another option is to try this: Start the car, adjust the pax side full hot, drivers full cold, wait 30 sec then shut car down, then start car back up and reverse the settings, pax full cold, drivers full hot. In both solutions, the vent actuators are stuck at either the full open or full closed, so you are trying to get it to 'self check' and allow them to resume proper function. After two years, I simply removed them altogether since I live where it is hot an only need cold.works just fine....

My 2004 silverado crewcab battery went dead and was replaced. The Air conditioning system now only blows through the defrost vents and the dial to change the airflow does not work. Can this be reset?

Turn the key on and make sure the blower motor is working. It doesn't matter what speed. Turn the key off. Pull the hvac1 fuse out of the under hood fuse box. Wait five minutes. Reinstall the fuse. Turn the key on, do not start the engine or touch the heater controls. You should hear the heat swiping through the different modes. After a couple of minutes it should stop. Turn the key off then start the vehicle. It may take several tries but eventually it should recalibrate.

A/c will not switch to any settings (floor, vents, etc..) just blows out of top of dash. I did put a new battery in it after it sat for a month.

Sounds like you need to recalibrate the HVAC

Turn on the HVAC so that the blower motor is working. It doesn't matter what speed. Turn the key off. Pull the HVAC/ECAS fuse from the under hood fuse block. Wait a couple of minutes and reinstall the fuse.

Turn the key on but do not start. You should hear the HVAC changing modes. it will take 3-5 minutes to complete. Once you stop hearing it changing it should be reset. Turn the key off and start the vehicle. It should now work.

Sometimes it will take a couple of tries but eventually it will go unless it detects a fault. If it does it will go back to defrost until the fault is resolved.

1989 mercedes 190e blower motor and vents not working properly

Probably two separate problems.
For the blower motor, it may be that the bearings are getting old and so the motor is getting harder to turn and overheating. A way to check is to take the motor out (it will be tucked in behind the glovebox. Pour a tablespoon of motor oil into the vents next to the shaft and work it back and forth to loosen it up. Then put the motor back in and try it. If I'm right, the motor will work normally again. However, this is only temporary--once the oil gets worn off the bearings in a while it will start quitting again. You should order a replacement before it blows your resistor block or (in the worst case) starts a fire. You can get them online, like from autopartswarehouse.com
