How to open 2005 honda accord trunk release not working

If release lever is not functional, use key. If key will not turn in cylinder, spray WD-40 into cylinder and use sawing motion to get key inserted and continue sawing motion to free up lock wafers internal to cylinder so it will turn with key. If this process is not effective, you will need to remove rear seat to access paneling to trunk lock and open accordinly

How to open doors on 2000chevy malibu battery dead?

The outside door locks/trunk lock will most likely not work due to the key not being able to be inserted/turned in the lock cylinder due to lack of use. Spray WD40 into door lock cylinder using supplied straw and insert key until it goes all the way in using sawing motion. If lock cylinder still will not turn continue sawing motion with key while holding gentle turning pressure on the key. This will usually free up any sticky/seized lock cylinder wafers and allow the cylinder to turn

Removing and replacing 2001 Buick Lesabre Trunk lock cylinder.

Most trunk locks have a holding mechanism at the bottom edge of the trunk lid. Open lid, look at bottom edge. If you see a plate held in with two screws, remove screws, pry plate down to release lock cylinder.

Trunk lock replacement

William,

Most all vehicle Lock Cylinder assemblies are held in place by a Spring Steel Retaining Clip. It may also be necessary to carefully remove the Emergency Release Cable and the Solenoid that opens the trunk electrically. The retaining clip is usually a "U" shaped Clip with a flange on the Closed End. If you cannot find what holds the Lock Cylinder in place, I strongly suggest that you take it to a Certified Mechanic that is totally familiar with your brand of vehicle. It is most often better to pay a professional a reasonable fee to avoid causing damage to other components surrounding or attached to the part requiring replacement.

My son just received a 1995 Ford Taurus GL, the trunk release lever by driver side seat is locked, we do not have a key and now cannot open the trunk. Any suggestions?

I don't know about your 1995 Ford Taurus, BUT I found that when the rear driver side seat was loosened, there were several cables running alongside the driverside rear (underneath the seat and connecting bolt). Pull gently on the cables...you will find one of them is the trunk release cable(which pops oopen the trunk). And lo....there were my keys inside the trunk. Took 5 minutes to take apart and put together. Good Luck.

6/98 camry xle v6,key does not work on trunk lock,.lock cylinder tumbler is in horizontal position.

your trunk's lock cylinders inner rod may be disconnected, or cylinder itself is loose. These rods are held by plastic retainers, they sometimes pop out. Inspect the lock for this and reconnect.

The hydraulic cylinder lines are designed to not be removable from the cylinder. There have been people who have done it, me, but it requires redesigning the attachment point. Not for the novice. If you are replacing the part, the new one comes with the lines attached. You must remove the plastic interior in the trunk and disconnect the lines at the pump. If you are only rebuilding the cylinder and reinstalling it, it can be done without removing the lines from the car. You will rebuild it sitting in the passenger seat. you will need the replacement O-rings sold on Ebay.

Bad news, if you are experiencing one cylinder leaking, it is very likely the other two that raise the top will begin leaking very soon. This is because all three cylinders use a rod seal made of the same material that degrades over time. The two remaining cylinders (of five) that raise the trunk almost never go bad because they were originally designed with the O-rings.

Costs:

-New cylinders run $300 to $400 apiece
-About $40 to $60 to have your cylinders rebuilt, apiece
-Around $10 to $20 to buy the O-rings on Ebay

Oxy Sensor

Makes 100% sense to me

I have a 1999 SL1 that I'm having a field day with. I installed a OEM cruise control on the car, took it to the dealer and had them program the PCM to see the cruise.

Cruise works flawlessly, but now I have a Service Engine Soon and Service Lights on all the time (Crank position sensor error and 1 cylinder missfire error) that the dealer cannot get to reset (Car runs perfectly) Dealer has worked on it 4 days so far (at their cost, not mine) they seem to be stumped. I love it!
