I am looking for a diagram to change my altenator on a 1999 dodge intrepid.

Hi,

The steps are ;-

Alternator
REMOVAL
2.7L Engine

1. Remove or disconnect the following:
2. Negative battery cable
3. Lower plastic splash shield
4. Transmission cooler and position it aside
5. Lower radiator crossmember support
6. Loosen:
7. Adjusting "T" bolt and the pivot bolt
8. Drive belt adjusting bolt
9. Remove or disconnect the following:
10. Drive belt
11. Alternator field circuit plug
12. Alternator B+ terminal nut and wire
13. Pivot bolt; be careful not to lose the spacer
14. Alternator

3.3L Engine

1. Remove or disconnect the following:
2. Negative battery cable
3. Alternator field circuit plug
4. Alternator B+ terminal nut and wire
5. Loosen:
6. Adjusting "T" bolt and the pivot bolt
7. Drive belt tension bolt
8. Remove or disconnect the following:
9. Drive belt
10. Adjusting "T" bolt and the pivot bolt; be careful not to lose the spacer
11. Alternator

3.2L and 3.5L Engines

1. Loosen:
2. Negative battery cable
3. Lower mounting bolt and pivot bolt
4. Drive belt tension bolt
5. Remove or disconnect the following:
6. Drive belt
7. Bracket, lower mounting bolt and pivot bolt
8. Alternator
9. Alternator field circuit plug
10. Alternator B+ terminal nut and wire

INSTALLATION
2.7L Engine

1. Install or connect the following:
2. Alternator
3. Pivot bolt with the spacer and leave loose
4. Alternator field circuit plug
5. Alternator B+ wire and terminal nut; then, torque the nut to 90 inch lbs. (10 Nm)
6. Drive belt
7. Using a belt tension gauge, tighten the adjusting "T" bolt until the tension gauge reads 120 lbs. (534 N) for a used belt or 180–200 lbs. (792–880 N) for new belt.
8. Install:
9. Lower radiator crossmember support
10. Transmission cooler
11. Lower plastic splash shield
12. Negative battery cable
13. Torque:
14. Pivot bolt to 40 ft. lbs. (54 Nm)
15. 8mm mounting bolt to 30 ft. lbs. (41 Nm)
16. 10mm mounting bolt to 40 ft. lbs. (54 Nm)

3.3L Engine

1. Install or connect the following:
2. Alternator
3. Pivot bolt (with spacer) and adjusting "T" bolt
4. Drive belt
5. Using a belt tension gauge, tighten the adjusting "T" bolt until the tension gauge reads 120 lbs. (534 N) for a used belt or 140–160 lbs. (623–711 N) for new belt.
6. Torque the pivot and adjusting bolts to 40 ft. lbs. (54 Nm).
7. Install or connect the following:
8. Alternator B+ wire and terminal nut; then, torque the nut to 90 inch lbs. (10 Nm)
9. Alternator field circuit plug
10. Negative battery cable

3.5L (VIN F) Engine

1. Install or connect the following:
2. Alternator B+ wire and terminal nut; then, torque the nut to 90 inch lbs. (10 Nm)
3. Alternator field circuit plug
4. Alternator
5. Drive belt
6. Pivot bolt and lower mounting bolt
7. Using a belt tension gauge, tighten the drive belt until the tension gauge reads 120 lbs. (534 N) for a used belt or 140–160 lbs. (623–711 N) for new belt.
8. Torque the pivot and lower mounting bolts to 40 ft. lbs. (54 Nm).
9. Connect or install:
10. Bracket
11. Negative battery cable

3.2L and 3.5L (VIN G) Engines

1. Install or connect the following:
2. Alternator B+ wire and terminal nut; then, torque the nut to 90 inch lbs. (10 Nm)
3. Alternator field circuit plug
4. Alternator
5. Drive belt
6. Pivot bolt and lower mounting bolt
7. Using a belt tension gauge, tighten the "V" drive belt until the tension gauge reads 120 lbs. (534 N) for a used belt or 140–160 lbs. (623–711 N) for new belt.
8. Using a belt tension gauge, tighten the Poly "V" belt until the tension gauge reads 120 lbs. (534 N) for a used belt or 180–200 lbs. (792–880 N) for new belt.
9. Install the bracket.
10. Torque:
11. Pivot bolt to 40 ft. lbs. (54 Nm)
12. 8mm mounting bolt to 30 ft. lbs. (41 Nm)
13. 10mm mounting bolt to 40 ft. lbs. (54 Nm)
14. Connect the negative battery cable.

There is No Diagram in the Manual for these. It is really simple. Read and if wanted any assistance, let me know.

I put a 1999 dodge intrepid motor in a 2000 body and the vacuum lines are just a bit off...I need to know where the vacuum lines go.

Diagrams I have do not show this,all it says is it has a legend on the inside door cap to the fuse panel,I hope this helps,you know there is a fuse/relay box under the hood witch has a legend on the under cover also.

THERMOSTAT PICTUREDIAGRAM OF 1999 DODGE INTREPID, 2.7 ENGINE SIZE


It is located on the left side of the engine down where the lower rad hose meets the engine block. It is fairly difficult to change.

How do you replace a water pump on a dodge intrepid 2003


The intake where the thermostat goes is in the driver side of the motor behind the altenator. I had to remove the front clip of the car and the altenator to get to it. It is quite a job.
