Best way to seal it up the leak is get a new one from advance/ auto zone, whoever else might have the Dipstick O ring gasket for the 4L60E . Jack the car up on one side or drain the fluid, clean the seal, dipstick tube and hole in the trans with brake cleaner. If you just jack the car up to get the level down put the cleaner on a rag to keep the brake cleaner it out of the transmission fluid. Put a light coating of a good silicone sealer on the O ring seal and put it in, then start 1/4" up with silicone on the tube and put it in. Install the bolt so it won't move around and start leaking again. Good luck and thins should stop the leak.

Where do I add oil on My 1977 Chevy Cheyenne 4x4? And where do I add tranny fluid to it as well?

The bright shiny chrome cap on the right valve cover pulls off to put oil in. I don't see the tranny dip stick but if you do, you add through that tube using a funnel and pour very slow.

Im workin on a 05 chevy blazer 4x4 ive pulled everything connect to the tranny but the transmission fluid dip stick what is keeping the tranny connected to the motor?

HAVE YOU DISCONNECTED THE TORQUE CONVERTER? SOMETIMES THE TRANS WILL BE STUCK TO THE BLOCK. YOU MAY HAVE TO TRY MOVING IT BY THE TAILSHAFT. SPRAY BLASTER (PENATRATING OIL) ON THE DOWEL PINS

Locate the dipstick tube to check the trans oil and remove the dip stick and put the oil down the tube. Replace the dip stick and check the level when you think you have enough in the tranny. Hope this helps.

95 chevy blazer 4x4, 4.3, v6, tranny fluid flows out top of fill tube. I have changed the filter and no I did not overfill it. Starts right up even when cold, but starts losing fluid right away (drove...

There should be a vent tube on your transmission. Check to make sure it is not plugged. Did it do it before you changed the fluid and filter? To properly check fluid level the vehicle needs to be running and warm and in park on a level surface. Just in case you didn't already know. IF your vent tube is open and fluid level is correct you must have internal problems.

I just replaced a transmision on a l998 Chevy Blazer and when I put it in gear it barely moves what could be the problem. I filled it up with transmition fluid. Could it be the Torque Converter? Or could...

Proper way to fill tranny after instalation of a new one is to fill to fill line before starting motor. Once it is full, read the dipstick. It will say to check with motor running and either in neutral or park. Clean off the dip stick and take a reading with motor running and tranni in proper position. Keep filling and rechecking untill it reads full while running and tranni in proper position. Once completely filled should run fine if the kickdown cable, aka tv cable, is adjusted properly.

Transmission Leak

Tal, The dipstick tube does have a cup seal that is used to seal the tube to the transmission case. They can leak, you would have to remove the bolt on the transmission bell housing, pull the tube up out of the hole and replace the seal.
The plug you refer to is for pressure testing. It is a pipe plug fitting that can be resealed with teflon tape from the hardware store.
Good luck let me know.
PS. make sure the transmission fluid level is not over full.

Transmission dip stick leak on my 1998 S10 Blazer.

you can replace the seal. some use an o ring some use a grommet. either way pull the tube out. have to remove the bellhousing bolt that holds tube. and change out seal. remember when you remove the tube fluid is going to pour out so have a pan underneath.
