The only way i know is with a siphen hose, but i have taken the filler hose off at the tank and siphend the gas out from there too. If its a picup truck maybe you can unbolt the bed and lift it back and get at the pump that way then you would not have to worry about draining the gas and droping the tank.

Hi. Every time you turn ignition on you should hear your fuel pump working for few second. (Priming) if you can't hear it turning on check fuse or fuses and relay first before you check the pump.

Have to change the fuel pump, whats the easiest way

Good luck on that - I believe the fuel pump is mounted INSIDE the gas tank in an assembly that includes the float and sock filter. You probably just filled the tank ( my luck goes that way too) and will need to siphon or drain the tank to do the job. This job is pretty involved and you may want to take it to a shop if you can afford to. If the problem is no fuel, you may want to change the fuel filter first - it's mounted against the frame rail, driver side, under the car. Make sure you release the fuel pressure by pressing down the release valve on the fuel rail under the hood, top of motor. The release valve looks like a tire's air valve and will spray gas at you so put a rag over it before pushing.

Easiest way to enstall a fuel pump

There really isn't an easy way to change the fuel pump. The gas tank has to be removed. Draining the gas out of the tank will help in reinstalling the tank. A floor jacket is helpful.

How do I remove fuel pump from dodge 1998 1500

An easier way you may want to consider is removing the bed of the truck. There is only 6 bolts from underneath.2 in the front and 4 in the rear then just remove fuel cap and fuel neck screws and unplug tail light plugs on both sides.

Bad fuel pumps 97 dodgef150

First you need to know that dodge din not make a F150. You have a 1500 dodge ram. (Ford is the F150) If you constantly run with the tank less than half full they are burning themselves out. You need to keep the tank at least 3/4 full. Also if you live in an area where they use oxygenated gas in the winter the constant adjustment on the fuel pump wears them out faster.

the valve that you are depressing is not an air bleeder it is a shredder valve used to check fuel pressure on, you most likely need a new fuel pump
