As the gearbox and transfer box are one unit, if you only need to remove the transfer box, you can remove the rear cross member and support the gearbox part while you undo the bolts that join the two boxes together. The biggest problem as I recall is gaining access to the bolts underneath the gearbox selector housing - if it's a manual of course. I think you will have to remove the gearbox selector housing to enable this. Be also careful of wiring for different switches and the like. I would say "no, it's not an easy job".

How do I change the front driver side light bulb in a 03 Suzuki Grand Vitara 1.6?

Danielle, On the driver side you may have stuff in the way, which may have to be removed, to change bulb. Sometimes it is easier to remove headlight then change bulb and reassemble. Videos attached make it look fairly easy to change he bulb with out removal of headlight.
Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck.

Where can i purchase a rebuilt transfer case for a 2007 Suzuki Grand Vitara >> Base 2.7L, RHD, V6. in Florida?

the chain is situated at the rear of the box and connects the output shaft of the gear box to the input shaft of the transfer case . it does wear and get loose and the gear teeth wear as well. all that is required is a chain and 2 gears and labour to replace
i feel that replacing the transfer case will not achieve much so i suggest that you talk with a service dealer to get a better idea of what is involved.

Transfer case

There is a gasket on the mating faces, this would appear to have failed. get it replaced before your fluid is gone. It could be a failed transfer box, but I can't be sure from your description. Get it looked at by a professional.

Trying to find way to fill transmission fluid

To change the fluid in the transfer case you must go under neath the vehicle ,on the side of the transfer case you will see a nut on the side ...that's is where you fill it ...on the bottom or some times on the side you will see another nut to empty it ...I recommend putting transfer case oil synthetic ....if you ever go through a lot of water while 4 wheeling,i recommend changing the fluid in your transfer case as soon as you can ...also check your rear end to see if there is water in it....to resovle problem ...add a longer hose ,so it will not take on any water ,hope this was help full

How do you replace a bcm on a 2002 impala

is located on the left hand side of the steering column.... it should be the same in the 01 since the parts can be swapped in both cars. Changing the box is real easy. It is above the drivers side kick panel. It is a black box with a few sets of cables attached to it which unplug. BE AWARE: the box may be easy to replace but the information stored on the old box has to be transfered to the new one. Usually the only people capable of doing that is a Chevy dealer. Once the new box is programed it can't be changed so unfortunately if replacing the box doesn't solve your problem you bought a box for nothing.
