Fix the brake first because that is a safety concern. I don't get it if you meant the engine is burning oil, which would causeit to put out a lot of smoke at the tail pipe. If it is just leaking oil, checking the oil regularly and topping it off is a lot cheaper than having the engine overhauled. Cleaning the engine once in a while would also be a good idea.

There is leakage in the front of my 1996 Honda accord engine. I can't tell what fluid it is, but it is causing an burning smell when I am driving.

you are going to have to identify the liquid in order to find the problem. or at least find where its leaking from. Engine oil? power steering fluid? see if the PS fluid is low, if it is, that could be the leak. See if the engine valve cover is leaking, thats on top, if it is, get that replaced and have the valves adjusted at the same time.

How can i solve engine oil leaking?

You probably have rings that are wore down, the main problem would be to replace motor. But, a quick fix is to buy a bottle of Lucas at your local auto parts place and it will temporarily seal the leak. Hope this helps.

When i shifts from 1st to 2nd it jurks hard and

you may not have trans problem at all. most of the time your motor mounts when worn out or broken can cause a hard ****. Put your car into gear with your foot on the brake and give some gas abrubtly and see if your engine jumps. do the same in reverse. remember to use the brake and have your hood open to see if your motor jumps.

The rear brakes on my 1996 Lincoln VIII don't work...the brake pads do not need to be replaced according to the mechanic...he did bleed the lines but the dashboard brake light is on indicating a problem...

The light means you are low on fluid now. If your rear brakes are not working you have a master cylinder or proportioning valve problem. You may also have a leak at the rear.

2008 honda accord replace rear brakes

no, 12mm wrench or ratchet on 12mm socket. the piston is tough to push back in. its a twist in type and you will need some force to push and twist the piston back in. - note rear brake pads wearing out on the new 08-09 accords are very common and if under 16-18 thousand miles it may be covered. honda knows about this problem

Why would my 96 honda civic be burning oil

Is it burning it or leaking it? If it is burning it then it could be caused from worn out valve seals or valve guides or worn out or cracked piston rings. The engine will have to be torn down to fix a problem like this. You may try using a product like motor honey or lucal oil stabalizer to help slow down the oil burning. There is no easy fix for a problem like this unfortunately
