1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee: Rear hatch/door shocks. Is the the bottom portion attached to the frame welded on or can it be removed? The shocks went out and I have replacements just not from another Jeep.

Best to get the correct ones...they come in all different mount configurations and lengths. You can alter what you have to fit but likely the results won't be what you wanted.

They are spot welded, but your hatch supports have a clip you pull out to remove them at each end

My back hatch door wont open. Ive tried just about everything under the sun. How do I get it to open?

Try bracing bottom piece of the plastic that surrounds the rear door handle with one hand while at the same time pulling on the rear door handle to try opening the door. Of course you will try this after unlocking the door with the unlock switch or key cylinder.

I have had problems with this as well, and unlocking the driver door made it worse by setting the alarm off. I found out that unlocking the rear hatch with your key will disarm the security system all together
