There is a fuse under the dash for acc. if that one is fine there is another that says radio those would be the best to check first. if not them it might be the constant power wire to the equipment

1997 Buick park avenue, stereo stopped working but still says the time how an i make it work

The clock is on a seperate electrical circult from the power for the stereo itself. So the clock can work and the stereo could be bad. Get out your owners manual and check the fuses for the stereo first. If the fuses are good check for power to the fuses with a test light.

I have 2 wires coming from the positive battery terminal. The first wire goes underneath the car to the starter. The second wire is separated at what appears to be a fuse link which goes into the drivers...

Hi, this second wire is a permanent live feed for inside the car, the things it runs are things like the stereo all its their for is so the stereo dont lose any stations that you have stored into the memory other than that their isnt much else it runs, maybe the clock, you could check by seeing what isnt working when the key is out, check the clock and stereo, if the stereo works with the key out then it must have its own live feed.

the chances are it wont work and you will lose the preset saved stations.

i hope that has given you some idea of what its for.

please let me know if you need further assistance.

plz can you rate this post as i have pages of unrated posts, thanks

1992 honda civic stereo and clock don't work whats wrong?

Yeah, the ground. ALWAYS, make sure the ground is good. When that switch was cut out, the ground was disconnected also. That's why the stuff don't work and and the chronometer resets and is dim. ALWAYS check the ground before ANYTHING else is done.

Blown fuse for stereo, but cant find which one

Did you check for an inline fuse in the power wire to the unit itself rather than a fuse in the car's fusebox?

1997 Toyota 4 whl. Drive/6 cylinder..clock & radio light problem?

The clock unit is just defective and needs replaced. It is pretty common on these 3rd gen (96-02 Runners) -they are not cheap so many folks have just given up on them. T4R.org is a good place to look for one or a local junk yard if you need to replace it. While you have the dash apart for the clock then ...

Your radio issue is likely in the unit itself-and replacing the radio head unit with a more modern unit would likely be around the same cost as any fix of the old unit. Since many car stereo outlets install for free your only limitation is how much you choose to spend or the features needed. I seriously doubt Toyota can fix your light in the old stereo for any less than a new radio itself....but of course call the dealership and ask to be sure before you go spending big money....

Honda Accord 1995 Stereo and Clock

it sounds like you have shorted out the stereo. i had a jensen stereo that the display went out on an i checked all the same things that you did an it still wouldnt work. you may could take it apart an look at the circuit board an see if there is a burnt spot or a wire popped free from the board. for future advice always disconnect your battery. i hope this may help
