This is most likely a vacuum seal problem. Get a Vacuum Gauge, then use this site to help determine what the exact culprit is:

1995 toyota corolla, car will not turn over, hs power and wants to turn over, but does not

While the engine is cold, try starting it and giving a little gas while you start it. If it starts, release your foot and see if it keeps running. If it stalls out, start it again (by giving a little gas again) and then keep your foot on the gas slightly to keep it from going to it's normal idle. Once the engine is warmed up, let off the gas and see if it stays running again. If it does then you need to clean/reaplace the IAC valve that is on the throttle body.

If you can, remove it and clean it out with carb cleaner (like B-12) and an old toothbrush. It could save you some money from having to replace it.

Starting in the morning car wont idle until i keep my foot on the gas

Sounds like you may have a vacuum leak get a can of Carb cleaner track down as many vac hoses as you can most are small thin hoses but some are bigger take the cleaner with the engine running and spray on the hoses not alot just enough to get the vapors across them along the hoses and the ends if the engine starts to die or does remember where you sprayed try again to narrow it down if it does then you can fix or replace the hose if you cant find a leak there should be a screw on the throttle screw it in only a few turns and see if that idles it up some and helps I had one that did this i couldn't find the leak but the idle screw helped. Turning the screw in revs it up out down.

1996 Nissan Pathfinders engine dies after driving approx. 1/2 hour, then will start and run for a short distance, what could be the problem. Please help!

Does it happen when idling is gear? (I.e. at a red light, then when you try to accelerate it stalls?) Have you tried keeping your foot slightly on the gas pedal? If so, this could be a vacuum seal problem. Get a Vacuum Gauge, then use this site to help determine what the exact culprit is:

Sounds like idle motor, it is an electrical solenoid on Throttle body. It is black and looks like a small film canister found on the upper part of the T/B$70

96 GC Orvis-Severe vibration in Idle.

Before you go changing the idle motor, clean the throttle body out with a spray cleaner and make sure you get into the idle speed motor orifice. Spray the cleaner into the throttle body with the engine off, do'nt be afraid to use it all then let it sit awhile. When you try to start the car it might not want to start, just keep your foot all the way down on the gas pedal and as it starts and clears up just release the pedal slowly. If the car smokes out of the exhaust, thats normal. Hope this works.
