Could be several causes... but the result is consistent - when the light is on the air bag is disabled

The motion sensor board has a failure - or one of the crash sensors has failed - so the motions sensor board is not receiving the desired signal. To prevent an accidential firing of the bag, the system disables the airbag and turns on the light....

Since I answered all of your original questions....and you rated my so low - even though I gave you 100 percent,,, I guess that you will have to find another "free" source to demonstrate a lack of appreciation to... sorry. I spend my valuable time helping for no charge... and I provided what you asked... and you say that is not good enough.... Please review your question and compare it to my answer... then see if the "no good" rating is justified!

I`ve experienced the same problem on my 1999 Sonata, scanned the problem results on a PAB (passenger Air Bag problem). Official Service recommended to replace the PAB module at a $ 1.300 cost.....Not a great fix!!! I`ve fixed the problem by removing the on board air bag light :-) This appears to work on this latitude.
Be nice.

How do I make my 2.0 sonata 2001 light on fuel?

Presuming you mean you want to get better fuel consumption with your Sonata, here is a list of things you can do:
New air filter (clean airfilter) - check monthly.
Clean airbox in which airfilter sits.
Run fuel injector cleaner every 3to4 tanks of fuel.
Make sure the sparkplugs are clean and gapped correctly. Check every 20,000km -replace every 100,000km or when fouled. Replace all at the same time. Use a very good brand of sparkplugs with platinum tips. (move up to a heat range 1 higher if your driving is 50/50 mixed city/highway.
Make sure the sparkplug wires are no more than 50 ohms in resistance, are not cracked, boots are in very good condition and seal up on the plug.
Empty you car of all un-needed materials.
Wash and wax the car frequently.
Make sure the tires are correctly inflated -- check once a month.

I have a 2001 Volvo S40 and the airbag light has been on and won't turn off and I have know idea why?

The (air bag) SRS System has to be diagnosed to answer that

Why was that not done when the check light issue was resolved

Your lucky you had no accidents as the air bag is most likely
turned off,so why have you waited 9 months

You clearly never want to use that repair shop again

What does air bag code 43 mean?

The driver frontal loops 1 and 2 are the loops to the steering wheel air bag. The SDM(sensing and diagnostic module for the air bag) is seeing these circuits as open. There is a bullitin for problems with a loose connection for the yellow connector behind the left kick panel(right behind the e brake and hood release). I would remove the kick panel, and disconnect and reconnect the connector a couple times. See if the light goes out. Or wiggle and move the connector with the key on, as the light should go out if it makes good connection. If it does go out you need to replace this connector. Good luck.

#05-09-41-001B: Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) Light ON, Diagnostic Trouble Codes (Inspect/Replace IP Harness to Inflatable Restraint Module (Air Bag) Yellow 4-Way Connector C221 and/or C222) - (Jun 2, 2008)

Subject:Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) Light ON, Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) B0013, B0014, B0017, B0043, (Inspect and/or Replace IP Harness to Inflatable Restraint Module (Air Bag) Yellow 4-Way Connector C221 and/or C222)

• The SDM detects the air bag module deployment loop resistance is greater than 4.8 ohms for 500 milliseconds.

• The SDM detects that the voltage at the air bag module high control is less than 2.4 volts and deployment loop resistance is 6 ohms or greater for 500 milliseconds.

Air bags suspension won't inflat. Checked all fuses & air suspension switch. What can the problem be?

Probably failed seal or air bag leaking air. Check again and try to see if this will do the trick. Sometimes pvc line could fail to deliver air to the bag too!

Dummy light is on and says "INFL REST". What does that mean?

INFL REST means "Inflatable Restrant" problem in your air bag it is either saying your air bag is on and working or that iit is not working.

Generally, the air bag computer has stored a trouble code. You will need the factory service manual to retrieve the code and troubleshoot it.

Hope this helps.

2001 Escort ZX2. Where are the impact sensors loctaed for the front air bags? Also, where is the control module located?

AIR BAG (SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM) General Information The Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) is designed to work in conjunction with the standard three-point safety belts to reduce injury in a head-on collision. WARNING
The SRS can actually cause physical injury or death if the safety belts are not used, or if the manufacturer's warnings are not followed. The manufacturer's warnings can be found in your owner's manual, or, in some cases, on your sun visors. Depending on your vehicle, the SRS may be comprised of some or all of the following components:
  • Driver's side air bag module
  • Passenger's side air bag module
  • Air bag diagnostic monitor computer
  • Left and right-hand radiator primary crash air bag sensor and bracket
  • Center cowl safing rear air bag sensor and bracket
  • Left-hand kick panel safing rear air bag sensor and brackets
  • Air bag warning indicator
  • Tone generator (internal to the air bag diagnostic monitor)
  • Electrical wiring
  • Air bag Electronic Crash Sensor (ECS)
The sensors in the car are designed to detect a severe frontal impact. When at least one of the primary crash sensors and the center cowl safing rear air bag sensor close at the same time, electric current flows to the inflator and ignites the chemicals. The chemicals burn rapidly in the metal container. This burning produces nitrogen gas and small amounts of dust, both the gas and dust are cooled and filtered during the air bag(s) inflation. The air bag(s) split the trim covers open while inflating. The air bag(s) then rapidly unfold and inflate in front of the driver or passenger. After the air bag(s) have inflated, the gas escapes through holes in the bag(s) and the they will deflate. prev.gif next.gif

So the air bag light has been on for months and the wife is upset that i havent gotten it fixed. No one has been able to tell me whats wrong and how to fix it. Only that I have to take it to a dealer? Is...

im sorry but if your not up on air bag systems the dealer is your safest bet. 200 hundred may sound like alot but if you mess up the cost of the air bags and the damage they do when they deploy is unbelieveable. to the bright side your air bags may not work but they wont go off on theyre own

2008 Hyundia Elantra Air bag light came on while driving on a smooth highway. Only has 6600 miles. Will not reset with 3 tries of the key. Odds this will inflate while just driving?

If that is all the mileage you have then you should take it to the dealer because it will be covered under the vehicle warranty. I hope this helps.
