Question about 1999 Hyundai Sonata
Could be several causes... but the result is consistent - when the light is on the air bag is disabled
The motion sensor board has a failure - or one of the crash sensors has failed - so the motions sensor board is not receiving the desired signal. To prevent an accidential firing of the bag, the system disables the airbag and turns on the light....

I`ve experienced the same problem on my 1999 Sonata, scanned the problem results on a PAB (passenger Air Bag problem). Official Service recommended to replace the PAB module at a $ 1.300 cost.....Not a great fix!!! I`ve fixed the problem by removing the on board air bag light :-) This appears to work on this latitude.
